Title: Barbers race
Post by: rudyr on April 07, 2025, 05:24:40 AM
Well back only 7 hr. Drive 1 stop for fuel.  I didn’t take my bike, left in rain all the way past Memphis then back home Sunday.  Fri. got a call Doug Elrod he was at Barbers museum. I was just getting ready to work my shift so we couldn’t hook up. This year worked some in the paddock that is crazy racer wizening to the track and people running in front of them, people don’t have the right of ways their.  Rain and lightning all morning Sunday, they told me to ride the trolley 15 min before end of my shift.  Had  my rain suit on in a room for 4 hr., so you know how that feels. Great Weekend.Rudy

Yep, we gad nasty weather this past weekend.

Now that I am retired I'm looking to see if I can volunteer during the Vintage Fest and camp in the truck camper.

I watched the (very wet) Sunday Superbike race at home via streaming.  Amazing what those guys are capable of even in heavy rain.  Many years ago I used to do the occasional track day at Barber.  Those guys are 20 seconds a lap faster in the wet than I ever was in the dry!  Of course I was in my early 50's riding a 650, so...that's got to be the reason, right?  I just keep telling myself that, so I feel better.
