Claimed 67 horsepower, and yet Guzzi's V85TT with the same sized 850cc engine makes 80 hp.

Yup. We've been down this road before.
Though this is the closest the V7 motor has been to the V85 (finally sharing the larger throttle body), they are still different motors in terms of at least the valve train and lubrication systems.
And from a marketing perspective it likely doesn't make sense to give a bike that is ~1/3 cheaper in price the same performance as one that is more expensive in the same lineup.
I would also speculate the differences in tune/feel may also speak to the somewhat different purposes of the two bikes.

I'm ready to trade my 1400 for one. I just wish it had round clocks and shiny paint, but you can't have it all seemingly. I really like to buff some shine in as opposed to getting it painted as the color is great. It checks all the other boxes though. I imagine when they start to come the left over v7s will become major bargains.

So far all the reviews I have read or seen have cemented my opinion this will be my next bike. Any of the things they see as niggles (and they are mostly that and not actual problems) are just not concerning to me.

They should’ve red framed this one.

Besides the red frame they could have copied a few other things IMO.
