This should include great places that you’ve been to and truly want to go to. I’ve been to some great and risky places in Arizona/NM and Cherahola, The Dragon, Blue Ridge Parkway. I really want to ride to Custer Battlefield, Lolo Pass and hang out at the O’Haire Motor Inn in Great Falls , Montana , where they have in a huge tank above the bar with swimming mermaids! It was voted as the best place to fly in on your private plane for a burger one year. And a trip to The Big Bend area of Texas would be nice. How about you?

Lolo and Beartooth Passes are two of the best. US-395 thru CA-OR-WA.
Nordkapp, Namibia, Ushaia, Estonia, Latvia.

If you ride Lolo Pass,go south on 95 ,then west on 71 into OR along Hells Canyon, spectacular.
-
The Duffy Lake road to Lillooet, from Whistler in South western B.C  And Hwy 93 through Montana to Gibbonsville , Idaho . Think Broken Arrow rally .
-
Add Chief Joseph Hwy that runs into 212 and the Beartooth. Southern Utah. 163, 261 (Moki Dugway), 95, 24, 12 just to name a few.

Hwy 1. From either direction to Monterey. Vivolo’s Chowdah House for some clam chowdah in a sour dough bread bowl. Make sure to do the cheesy garlic bread topper. The bowl is edible too so don’t miss out on that part!
Too bad 1 is closed South of Big Sur. Hwy 9 in the Santa Cruz mountains is a hoot….but only when there’s no traffic. Stop for lunch at Alice’s Restaurant in Woodside. Lots more to the East in the Sierra Nevadas.

NC Outer Banks. I’ve made the 3 day ride at least a dozen times and it never gets old.
-
Roosevelt Lake, AZ and Pie Town, NM...just to name a few! :thumb: :boozing:

This is more of a question than a contribution. Has anybody gone from Banff over to Vancouver, in Canada? Is there more than a single highway? Would you recommend this ride as a destination? How's it compare with the well-known US places that have been suggested?

I have done Hwy 1 the Trans Canada many times. Went south from Banff to Montana and Glacier Park on Hwy 93 but see there are other routes that head way north and south. Canadian Rockies are spectacular. Don’t think you can go wrong on any of those roads.

Icefields Parkway, Highway 14/14A in SD/WY, US-180 NM, US-380 NM, NM-32, KS-177, NM-4, NM-152, US-191.
And a big, big thumbs-up for Chief Joseph HIghway or WY-296...the Beartooth and Lolo get well-deserved kudos, Chief Joseph Highway has to be one of the Top 5 prettiest rides I've ever taken.

I rode from Banff to Vancouver on my 750 Honda in 1975 on the trans Canada highway, remember the peaches and cherries along the way.Im sure the BC guys can give you more info but it was a great ride.

The Stelvio Pass is certainly a "scene" or it was when I rode it back in 2019. However one side is better than the other, and it can be a bit of a circus at the top of supercars, bikes, bratwurst stands, pubs, and souvenir shops. My 2 favourite Alpine passes were the Sustenpass which is just outstanding riding and with just a pub at the top, and the St Gotthard which is a good ride but also has the most amazing cafe thats very chilled out with awesome views. We found we could have sat there for hours just relaxing, listing to the cowbells.....
Other great destinations;
Grindlewald in Switzerland - just majestic mountains with great stories attached to them, and no little tragedy.
The Ace Cafe in London - the original rocker hangout and on a warm summers night packed with bikes and bikers of all ages.
Pie in the Sky / The Road Warriors Cafe on the Old Pacific Hwy between Gosford and Sydney - its just part of my motorcycle DNA.
