Hello,
I've been riding my 2023 MG V7 850 Special consistently over the last 7 months or so and I've noticed something that probably isn't a problem but still makes me wonder.
No matter what gear I am riding in, when I reduce throttle the bike acts as if I've downshifted to engine brake. Just releasing the throttle produces a significant engine braking feeling.
On my old Yamaha (that is carburetor equiped,) I can release the throttle and the bike begins to slow with a more natural feeling, not the surging engine braking feeling of the V7.
Is this because it is fuel injected?
Is this because of the emissions mapping?
Thanks!

I bet if you went back to the dealership they will already have a new updated map ready to install and it would feel better. That said, I’ve noticed the Guzzi small blocks will have a more natural tendency to engine brake—maybe due to peak power coming in at a lower RPM?

I should have thought about that!
I'm at 853 miles on the bike now, my first service should be very soon.
