Just wanted to give a shout out to Kip (Offcamber). Spent Saturday looking at bikes in two shops and then a great Italian restaurant for lunch with great company. I admit that I really liked the Indian FTR for under 10 along with versions of Scouts and Chiefs. The Royal Enfields didn't do it for me, but damn is there variety to that line. Second dealership was Triumphs and Kawasaki. I like the Kaw 650RS, they didn't have the 900. Triumphs were sweet and I see Kip with a T120 in his future. I was disappointed at the high saddle on the 400. It seemed taller than the 1200s. I didn't care for the Elvis special edition Bonnie, but the Icon editions were cool. Unfortunately no prices listed on any bikes which is a big turnoff to me. Not that I'm buying anyhow since it would require selling the Beast.

I thought the same. The Bud Ekins and Steve McQueen models made more sense.

Jim, likewise I had a great time! I loved that T120 and was pleasantly surprised with the seat height and the ease with which it came off the side stand. Unfortunately the T120 Speed Twin RS that I liked so much was just under $16K when I looked it up on Pilson's web site. YIKES! The 400 was more my size and price, but since I am not in a hurry I think I am going to wait on the new BSA before homing in on anything. (I did like the 650 REs but they seemed quite heavy in comparison to the little Triumph.) Used Guzzi's, BMWs, and 900 Thruxtons also in the the running...

Unfortunately, I rode a Speed 1200 at the Indy demo days..

*Very* nice. The Speed 900 is a little smaller and in my opinion better for every day riding. It's totally upgraded this year with upside down forks, piggy back shocks, electronic bells and whistles. Sounds bitchin' too. :grin: Around 10K.

This one seemed a little shorter than the first year model I sat on when they came out, but they had it against a wall so I wasn't able to throw a leg over.
