On vehicle oil there’s the recommendation to change at so many miles or so much time whatever comes first.What about my bikes transmission and final drives fluid? I changed them at 12k and the next one should be at 28. My mileage is at 25k but it’s been 6 years.I think I should change it just to feel good.

Unless the oil got contaminated its probably good for many 10's of 1000's of miles since its not perashable the calendar be damned.
The good news is Its not very expensive nor time consuming to change. If it gives you peace of mind to change it, change it!

Time does have a detrimental effect on motor and gear oils. Mostly the additives. I would certainly change it after 6 years and being close to the mileage any way

Do you really need to ask if you should ? I have re read this post many times to make sure that I haven’t mis read something, just get the old crap out and put the new stuff in.
I change mine Norge/V85 very 10,000 km (6,000 miles) and have done so in the Norge from 2007. It’s done 230,000 km and shifts like a Suzuki Bandit, asking if you should change your bike’s oil is like asking if you should wipe your infant’s ass.
I still think you might be joking.

I use Chevron Delo ESI 85w140. It services Meritor and Mack 100,000 mile intervals on heavy trucks, should basically never need changing in ours unless you get water contamination.

The service wrench came on Saturday at 7,000 miles. My thought was what is up with that, an odd interval. I pulled out the owners manual to check. Low and behold I did it all at 5K. I have a few vehicles at our house, I change everything at 5k intervals, easy to keep track.

In my small thick multi lingual difficult to read tiny print v85 owners manual, p.279, specifies eng, gearbox & final drive oil replacement as follows:
Eng oil @ 6200 mi or once/yr
Trans oil @ 18,600mi, no time based change
Final Drive oil @ 18,600mi, no time based change
Personally, I think I'd replace the trans & diff oil at least every two years if I was nowhere meeting the mileage interval. And, like others have mentioned, I'll do engine oil at 5k mi to keep it simple for me and a little easier on the engine that requires a little less than 2 quarts of oil to live on.

I change the trans and final drive oil every other oil change. It's cheap and easy, plus I don't have to worry about it ever again.
