Just to prove that it never rains but it pours, the EldoVert after 4 years of 100percent trouble free riding has decided to present me with 2 problems.
The ignition stuff is in another thread.
After coming off the highway yesterday, I noticed a loud whine whenever I decelerated and at low revs in high gear. It's never done this before. Hard to tell if it's still whining at speed due to the other noises generated.
I vaguely remember reading something about this on the site, but can't find it through searching.
Anyone know what this might be?
Thanks as usual.

Oil level in trans ok? Try shifting it between ranges maybe the shift fork is loaded? DonG

Changed the ATF fluid and the noise went away,

My convert always whines at certain rpms. A California II automatic I had did the same thing. I always thought that was the nature of the beast. Its interesting what you report, with the atf. was the level low?

No, not low, but had been in there a while, looked a bit dirty as it came out....
I'd be lying if I said I could explain it but the whine has gone!!
