All, ImgBB has changed the way they allow images to be uploaded into the SMF platform. So, here is the new way you need to add images to your posts. These instructions are for Windows based computers.
1. Click "Add image to post" as you normally would.
2. From within the ImgBB pop up window, click "browse from your computer"
3. Select the image from your computer that you want to display
4. Click "Upload"
5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and where it says "Viewer links" select that drop down and choose "direct links"
6. You'll now see the link to the image. Click "COPY", then you can close that window
7. Select the "Insert Image" icon above. It's the one under the B and looks like this: (https://i.ibb.co/67RrTzVr/img-icon.jpg)
8. Insert the code you copied between the "img tags" as shown here: (https://i.ibb.co/SXvZ1fht/image-upload-instruction.jpg)
9. Click "Post" and you're done.
edit: FWIW, if you create an account with ImgBB, it'll make life easier on you and they host your images.

Did all that. All that shows up in the post is the link, no picture preview.

Make sure you follow the instructions to the letter.

I'm on my phone, try selecting HTML link like this and just pasting the the entire link without the brackets and img tags.

BBCode Thumbnail linked is what I now choose.

It used to be stone simple.
Click the image, click upload and it appeared in the post wherever you left the cursor.
What happened?
Not that I can't follow this convoluted path. Just that I don't want to.

Nothing happened on this end. It was a change on their end. Nothing I can do about that one.

That was almost painless.

With the assistance of Kevin the Great and Wife, I finally figured this out, to post a picture with my post.
BE ADVISED, this is going to be somewhat confusing for those of us thats not very computer educated however it’s doable.
You guys that are in the same situation as I am, find you someone to walk you through the process and after doing it a couple of times you will be able to do this.
Just be patient!

Click on "add image to post" as you normally would, and then click upload. Once you see the photo, click on "BB code full linked" and copy that. Then paste it into your post.

Edit it to remove the front part, and the back part, and just leave the section that starts with img and ends with img. Make sure to include the brackets.

Still having issues ? Call me.

Reply #5 must be a figment of my imagination.
No need to edit it, if you wish to keep the thumbnail - advisable for some of those HUGE pics that get posted.
