Title: NGC - Rocker59 goes to Bonneville
Post by: rocker59 on June 24, 2025, 10:49:45 AM
No, not the salt flats...

Last month, I picked up a 2017 T100 Bonneville Black at the local Indian/Triumph dealer.

A Bonneville has been on my "want list" since about 1983.  LOL!  About time, right?  It was dirty and dingy, and needed a good cleaning.

A brown comfort seat has been added, and getting ready to add Hepco Becker racks for the Junior bags I already own.  Had thought about going C-Bow, but the Guzzi rider in me overcame the urge to spend the money on a different luggage system.

First bike I fell for as a kid in the 50's was Triumph Bonnie and HD Sportster.  Hard not to love a classic look.

Always liked those bikes.  I've had 9 of them over the last 20 years or so.  Funny enough, my first Guzzi was a 2015 V7 as I figured it was about the same as my 865 Binnie and I wanted something different.

Looks like they only gave you 1/2 the exhaust

Congrats on the new Triumph !

I have a carbureted 2004 Bonneville T100 "Tuxedo" black with white stripes.  I love it as a neighborhood motorcycle, but I don't like it on the highway!  My wife thinks it's my coolest looking bike

I'm sure you will enjoy yours, there are literally limitless aftermarket mods available.

Yeah.  Turn out tips.  They're all the rage, I guess.  Sounds pretty good though.  Still has the catalytic converter under the engine, so it's not too loud.

The stock mufflers go straight through, no baffles. The cat does the muffling.

Looking good, Chuck!

If my dealer had one of those 2025 Speed Twins on hand the day I bought the used T100, I'd have probably gone that direction.  It's a lot of bike for $10k.

I was also looking at the Scrambler 1200 X, but knowing I'd want to change the exhaust put the cash layout in the no-go zone.  The ZARD low 2:1 exhaust is something like $1700+.

This 900cc Bonneville sure is comfy and the engine sure is smooth and tractable!

Triumph really hit their stride a few years back. Making some good looking and reliable bikes. They’re opening a dealership about 4-6 miles from my house. Plan to go down there and pay a visit just as soon as the showroom is open. Almost bought a Thruxton Ace Cafe edition. Seriously thought about trading the V7R in and taking the monetary loss. Still kinda wish I had.
