Title: RAM Clutch ID ( 5 speed version)
Post by: Turin on July 06, 2025, 09:43:45 PM
Any body know many versions did they make of the RAM clutch? ( 5 speed, not concerned about the blowy uppy ones in certain spineframes)
I just traded some parts and am curious how many versions they made. I'm pretty sure the one I have is pre-2015 as it has the normal solid clutch disc ( vs the one with three fingers they currently sell) How pre-2015 could it be? there is very little info available. I can't even find a website for RAM.

I've already ordered the new disc and longer pushrod.

Gordon @ MG Cycle could tell you, if you can contact him.

I haven't spoken with Gordon in ages. I stopped calling when they transitioned to mostly web ordering. If I recall, someone (not Gordon or Rick rip) instructed me to place my orders online.

I'll give him a shot. Thanks again Charlie.

Gordon is retired, AFAIK someone else is running MG Cycle now. I sent you a PM with Gordon's contact info. (forgot I had it).

That explains a lot. I prefer talking to a human being. It's not about who can sell a part the cheapest.

According to Gordon, the first ones had hex bolts holding the wheel to the crank. Around 2005 they thickened the flywheel and went to allen bolts. 2015 is the 3rd gen with the 3 fingered clutch plate.

looks like I have an early one.
