Hi all,
Looking at specs, and wondering if a new V100 service at around 1100 vs. the book 930 miles is a Bad Thing? I'm used to 600-mile break-in periods. I ask because I have a 1050-mile trip that'd be cool to do on a new V100S....

I doubt 170 miles is going to matter in any important mechanical measure. If that was my bike I wouldn’t sweat it.

Totally agree.

Same here, just keep eye on oil, new engines can use some. Congrats on another Guzzi if you get one. Ride Safe

Just do it. No biggie. :thumb: Just make sure you vary your speed for the first few hundred miles with an occasional hard pull. No steady speeds on cruise control.

Wonder why if I get a new automobile the 1st service is at 10,000 miles with no "run in" procedure, just dive it normally but a motorcycles requires a "break-in" service very early in it lifespan. Me thinks its more a holdover from days gone by and now is an avenue for a money grab
600, 900 10,000 miles does it really matter or if you go past the service interval will the longevity of the bike be compromised in any way?

Looks like you're from Richmond? I got my '24 V100 Mandello Navale from Chelsea there at Moto Richmond. I asked the guy at the parts/service desk about the initial break-in on the V100, and I seem to remember him saying it was at 1000 miles? The reason I remember is, he said the break-in on my '23 V7 Stone was at 900, and I remembered the V100's being slightly different. You should be okay, other than maybe the wrench light comes on. I know on some bikes, when the wrench light comes on it will make the bike go into "safe" or "limp" mode, but I don't think Guzzis are that sophisticated.

Yeah, in talking with Brandon at Moto Richmond (https://www.motorichmond.com/), he said, "Don't sweat it!" So I'll ask for an extra liter of engine oil to take on my trip to....drum roll...Ohio Buckeye Guzzi rally next weekend!
