Title: 2002 Stone dual disc conversion
Post by: Snow Leopard on August 30, 2025, 12:21:44 PM
My 2002 Cali/Stone had the single front disc brake, and l would like to convert it to dual discs.  I did this many years ago to a single disc 850T and was very happy with the results.   Obviously I need the extra caliper, rotor and brake line (and anyone who has the bits for sale, please message me).  Will the original master cylinder handle the extra load?  What else have I not considered here?   Many thanks for any expertise.

I did the same conversion on a '03 Stone. Fortunately I was able to source a 17mm master off of a contemporary Aprilia with the same levers and mirror perch. I believe you will be disappointed if you leave the stock, 15mm master on.

Skippy.

There are bigger masters over on the GuzziTech site in the store. There is also a place in NV Bellamissimoto--------------------------------

https://www.bellissimoto.com/

Then there is MG Cycle is 1st choice for me.
You could also convert it to Integral Braking if so inclined w/CalVin splitter.

I've not done it on any of the EV derivatives, but maybe this master would work better than the PS15?

Not real familiar with the EV line. Are there any EVs that have the same calipers but dual? If so, can you use that master or one of the same bore and hopefully same stroke?

EV variants came one of two ways: 1) linked brakes, and 2) single front disc. In either case, the front master cylinder only operated one caliper. The Centauro had non-linked brakes, the same(?) front calipers and a PS16 master cylinder.
