1st and most important is the great news on Texas Turnip/Ken Hand. He had lost about 40 lbs in just a few months and could barely eat anything without having pain. Tests showed a tumor in his small intestines which was removed a week ago. He is up and about and doing great now and is really looking forward to seeing everyone at the GRIT Rally. He's already got the dessert breads made for the Sunday Breakfast!
He wants to apologize because he was in the hospital for a week and didn't get a chance to harvest the turnips and they all bolted.
He wanted me to post a picture of his belly but I didn't know if you could "stomach" it, so I'm posting a similar picture of a blobfish with a big scar where it's nose was cut off. He even has round circles where the fish's eyeballs are - tiny catheters going into abdomen and spraying it with numbing medicine.

He would really love it if you would send him a card. He loves receiving them! His address is
Ken Hand

Lindale, TX 75771
Say prayers and send positive thoughts his way. Thank You, Thank You. Thank You!

GUZZI RIDERS IN TEXAS (GRIT) Rally
WHEN: Fri Oct 3 - Sun Oct 5 with main event on Sunday. It should be over by 1:30 or 2:00 but you can stay as long as you want.
WHERE: My house 15093 CR 431, Lindale, TX 75771 it is on the corner of County Roads 431 and 474, with 2 driveways on 474 and none on 431. I have some beds/cots and a couch to sleep on so text or reply here if you need one. Several are already reserved. There's plenty of room outside for tents. You can also come in an RV but there are no connections like sewer water or electricity
WHAT TO EXPECT: All meals furnished starting Friday night. Soft drinks, coffee, and tea available all weekend. There are routes mapped out so you can explore East TX. You can go to places like London, New York, and Paris and you can see a museum made of salt in a nearby town called Grand Saline. You can also take a trip to Mars which was previously inhabitated by Martians, but the only thing there now is a historic marker.
COST: FREE FREE FREE (Donations appreciated)
WHAT TO BRING: If you want to bring a door prize you can, a card for Ken if you haven't mailed one already (see post above), and if you want any alcoholic drinks you need to bring your own. Can be bought in Lindale. It's ok to bring your family and your dog if it is nice and well behaved. I live on a kinda busy street don't want any dogs getting killed in the road (hasn't happened yet). AND bring a friend if you want. Doesn't have to be a Guzzi rider. They can come to see all the Guzzi's.
There is plenty of room to park bikes, cars and RVs.
This is a family and dog friendly rally.
See ya soon

Thanks for the good news, Beaver! Y'all take care, now.

All the best to Tex...wish him well on his recovery! I hear banana bread twice a day is a good recipe for good digestion! Especially with prunes and cranberry juice!

I didn't know he was ill, but good news indeed. I am tonight in Deer Lodge Montana, headed for The Farm in Arkansas . I will double my efforts to get to Lindale.
Put my name on one of the cots, please, if it is not too late
