Title: Norge Extended Oil Stick
Post by: Haioku_Mantan on October 04, 2025, 03:12:48 AM
Went down the rabbit hole looking for an extension after trying to check the engine oil level today.
That sure is a lot of plastic and bolts that need to be undone just to get a hand in.

After browsing multiple posts and forums, there seems to be a few options but none are in stock.
First is the original 2008 onwards updated pull stick https://harpermoto.com/products/oil-stick-978496

Next is the Stucchi Luigi oil extension which doesn't seem to be sold anymore, even under their new website: https://officinestucchi.it/en/
Same with the TLMS one (but this one is not recommended because of leakage)

There is a DIY method which involves destroying the original cap:

Any other kits or sources to try to get one shipped to Asia?

It's a struggle even with the pull stick.  Filling is a pain.
As you probably noticed, people permanently remove the lower fairing.

One of the main reasons I cut VroomHilda's skirts off...  Easy access and she looks so much lighter.. Mine was early 07 without even the hole to slip in dip stick!

You can fill easily by removing the fairing at the back side where the two bolts attach to the other body panel, gently pull it forward and get a large socket on the plastic threaded portion, it undoes with very little pressure.

Then a long necked funnel and you're good to go...takes about 5 minutes to take off the panel/screws and black threaded insert.

I put a Teo Lamers addition on mine immediately when I got it.

Access just below the spark plug cap.

The way you have that muffler routed is *chefs kiss* and it seems to still have space for the saddlebag - perfection.
One of these days I need to get a muffler shop to mandrel bend me an extension.

The top bend is 90 mm PCD and bottom is 110 mm PCD.

Actually this is a better shot of the pipe and the oil dipstick mod.

Really, I don’t know why you’d not just get a red Norge 2 VPC when looking for a good tourer, I’ve had mine 17 years from 2007 and I’ve never been tempted to sell it.

Huzo,

That dipstick is slick. How do you fill on a change?  The Gen 2 Norge (8V motor) has a screw in insert where the plug goes for the dipstick. I remove it for filling. Has anyone tried to adapt it? Not sure if the plug and insert  have the same threads.

Interesting that you moved the mirrors to the fairing.  I did that with my 2014 Mahogany Brown Norge, too many years with them fixed to the fairing on the FJR & C10 Concours.  I've never seen anyone else do it. I traded that in in 2019 for the MGX 21, and keep wondering if the bike will ever surface on the forum.
