Title: 1970 Ambassador 750
Post by: cjcampo on October 04, 2025, 05:36:12 AM
Just purchased a 1970 Ambassador.  Is a service manual available for this bike?  I will also need the speedometer restored, who does that?  The bike runs and rides pretty well.  But it has a very small Odyssey battery (150 CCA).  I need to source out a larger AGM battery with mounting hardware, any suggestions?  The key is missing for the two side tool boxes, I’ll have to drill those out and get new lock cylinders.  Who carries these?  Thanks in advance.

The key for the toolboxes is the same as that for the steering lock, so it's worth it to preserve the originals if possible. Drive the hinge pin out at the bottom of the 'box and take the lid to a good locksmith. The Neiman locks are similar to those used on BMW Airheads as the seat lock, but not quite the same. The blanks for the BMW will work and are available on ebay. There are other blanks listed on ThisOldTractor.com.
