Title: Dash lenses 1980 1000SP
Post by: snobear on October 15, 2025, 10:04:09 PM
Is there anywhere to get the colored dash lenses for the indicator lights on a 1000SP?

Toothbrush handles or colored ballpoint pen parts. Someone on a different site made replacements for his T3 lenses that way. He seemed happy with the result, and proud.

Translucent 3d printer filament might do the trick.  Not an exact color match but detail is achievable

I'll take a look at my SP and see what it entails.  I could do it possibly for the cost of the filament.

Thanks for looking into it, I have a piece of orange plastic in there now but it is not the proper shape to match the others.  the color being off a bit is not an issue but I would like to get one that fits the shape of the originals a bit better.

These look very much like the instrument light lenses used on the Convert models of a similar vintage. I believe I have a scrap Convert dash panel from which I could harvest a couple. What color do you need?

EDIT: Sadly, and strangely, both my scrap Convert instrument panels have been disassembled completely. There is no sign of the idiot light lenses. So the best I can offer is that a likely source of spare lenses might be someone else's scrap Convert instrument panel. Sorry I couldn't help more directly

Thanks for looking, green wont work as the one I need is between the blue and green so need something other than one of those colors.  It is supposed to be orange as it is the headlight indicator so orange, yellow or something like that would be ideal.

I have most of an SP instrument cluster with warning lights, and more loose pieces. When I get a chance, I'll check to see what I have.

On my CX100 (which is virtually identical) that lens is green.

Edit: Checked my stash of spares and have this:

Yes I would certainly be interested in that lens or the complete RH panel if you wanted to let it go.
My lens may have been green at one time and the previous owner put the orange plastic behind it.
I sent you an email as well, thanks
