Title: Rider Down
Post by: CharlieW on October 23, 2025, 06:27:02 AM
Its with sadness I have to Post.
Don/Donny Hennessey is in Gosnell Hospice, Scarborough Me.
A Cancer of the Brain.
Donny has been fighting the Cancer for over two years now, and anyone that knows Donny he gave a it Hell of a fight.
He purchased a V100S and proceeded to ride the wheels off it when treatment or flair ups didn't Hospitalize him. He Rode his Pedal Pusher Bikes to strengthen up (even pedaled to Dr appointments ). He also enjoyed skiing when Winter kept the Guzzi's off the road.
Donny made several Guzzi Rally's , with Great Friend Keith Smith.
The last ride they made began started with a ride to the PA Rally the two weeks later to the Kentucky Rally ( he got  Long Distance Rider at both ), a three week long ride. Sadly his last ,shortly after getting home time caught up with our Friend .

Sad to hear that.  The pictures made me smile.  Thanks for posting.

My first thought was: "This is the kind of fun loving goof ball i'd like to have as a friend!"

As the saying goes "You shouldn't take life too seriously, cause you'll never get out of it alive!"

Rest in Peace!

Very sad news. He was very upbeat at the KY rally. Just a great guy.

Sorry to hear about his passing.  I've had two friends/coworkers die of brain cancer over the years.  They go pretty fast.  It sucks.

I LOVE that epitaph!

"Always forward, never straight!"

That is a great way to be remembered IMO!

Reminds me of a friend (also Irish) who often used to start the BS flowing by saying: "All seriousness, aside....."

and another friend who often says "People often think I full of shite, but actually, I'm just Irish!"

Don ~ aka Goodolguzzi was a long time friend.

We first met in 2000 at the Virginia Rally, Sue and I had ridden down on the '96 Cali and when we arrived someone asked, when seeing the Maine Plate if we were with the other cat from Maine...  Other cat...?  Yeah, Donnie and I must have shadowed each other all the way there.

He was a fun-loving character, loved riding, bicycling and skiing.  He always had a smile and was happy to see you.  His trademark greeting reflected his taste in music and being a jokester.
Donnie always took the time to listen as well, a great fellow who treasured his friends in his life.

I miss him already.

Ride in Peace my Brother.

Details on the service when I know...
