Title: Eldorado 850 5 speed gearbox question

Can the sliding dog collar between 1st and 2nd gear be installed either way , If I remember correctly  it is reversable , I had it marked with my paint pen but accidently wiped it before paint had dried and lost its original orientation . Thanks Ray

Wear pattern should provide some forensic information as to original orientation.

Yes, it is reversible.

If you look really closely at the contact faces you will see a unique pattern on each face that will tell you the they were previously assembled. Assembling the units this way will reduce internal wear.
