Title: V7 Sport mode display returns to Italian
Post by: bugmoto on January 06, 2026, 04:16:51 PM
First-time caller, long-time listener...

I have a rather odd issue and I'm wondering if anyone's seen something like this. I recently had the factory heated grips installed on my '26 V7 Sport, and now, if I turn them on, then later shut the bike off... When I get going again and change riding modes, those mode names have reverted to Italian. I go and reset in the menu to English, and everything's fine unless I use the heated grips. Again, upon restart, I'm back to Italian.
Obviously this is a minor issue and I can live with it. Just worried it's indicative of a bigger problem with the ECU or the electrics overall..
Thanks

Welcome BugMoto, I enjoy your YouTube channel.

I don’t have a V7 Sport so I can’t help you.
But I suspect others will be here soon who can help.
If it’s a systemic issue, other 2026 V7 Spirt owners ‘should’ have the same issue.
If yours is a ‘one off’, I’d guess a warranty claim for a new ECU or Speedometer unit should correct it.

PS - I’m checking out the Pando Moto base layer leggings you talked about. Apparently they have a retailer in Chicago, IL. I’ll stop there when on my next business trip to that area.

Since you're able to operate the heated grips, I suspect they were installed by a dealer and activated with their PADS device. I'd recommend bringing it back for them to look at, sounds like that activation might need to be reset.

Hey Bug as an almost original viewer and responder to your channel I don't think you will get too upset with me if I agree that you should learn Italian.   I do agree that you should take it back to the dealer so that they can check it out.  Gotta be something fairly simple. Nice to have you here.

What does your local Guzzi dealer think about this issue?

It's that they switch out of English and go into Italian when I use the heated grips. If I switch it back to English, it gets reset to Italian, and so on.
Again, I can totally live with Italian (I happen to be Italian so I find it charming to a point) but I'm just concerned there's a bigger issue. Also, it's just irritating. :)

I've got a note into them but I think they might be slammed this week.

I too am a V7 Sport owner, however my natural aversion to "messing with the electrics" *caused me to say no when offered the factory heated grips. Of course after riding between Christmas and new year, I have just bought battery powered Keis gloves!  £300 thanks very much.......

By the way love your YouTube channel.

Reckon your dealer could sort it pretty easy when they have time.

I’m waiting to get my V7 Sport back from my dealer with the heated grips installed. I’ll let you know if I get that problem.
Please let u know what your dealer says.
