Title: How do you get the Moto Guzzi App registered?
Post by: bad Chad on January 10, 2026, 01:01:02 PM
I downloaded the MG app which as I recall I needed in order for my bike controls to operate the heater in the Comfort Seat.   The seat works wonderfully well, but I can't get the app to register, thus all its other, perhaps questionable features, can not be accessed.   It keeps saying "something went wrong, try again latter", well later never works either.  This is on an iPhone 16 with up to date IOS.   Any ideas how to get it to work?   This is on a 25 v85tt.

The MultiMedia App?

I had to download it to my Apple 15 MaxPro twice.
I wasn’t sure how to get it to connect.
Then after I started the bike, it connected and AFAIK, it only works with the bike running.
At least that’s the only time it shows data.
I’m not sure how to use the Map feature on it.
Strangely, it only works in landscape mode and I never use landscape mode, ever.
My RAM X-Grip is setup on Portrait mode.

Do you need the MIA “box” on the bike or is MIA only for the use of the navigation?

Can you not connect the phone to the bike with Bluetooth or can you not register?

I have the travel with MIA. I can connect and use the app. I can not however get my vin to register in the app.

It's not the Guzzi MultiMedia app, I had that on my v9 Roamer, and it actually worked really well, but this isn't that.     The tall Comfort Seat from Guzzi is really good, and it's heated, however to get the function to work you have to have Guzzi's MIA, which is a small black bock that plug into the computer, but it not the Multi Media black box.   Once I plugged in the MIA I could operate the heated seat with full functionality, really works great!  However, there are a bunch of other functions that the MIA has that can only be operated via having a smart phone connected to the MIA via the MIA app.  That's were the problem comes in, the App won't allow me to register!

Chad,

I'm not familiar with the newer Guzzi App. I also have the App for the older V7/9 with the add on module.  I had a heck of a time getting the Media Unit on the MGX-21 to work, and IIRC, It was a two step plan of first pairing the bluetooth module to the phone (like adding bluetooth headphones) apart from the app, then opened the app and connected to the device.  It was NOT clear what the module is due to weird labeling of the module, but after a while, and with the help of the Techs at Moto Richmond when I had it there for the MC recall that we got it worked out.

The heated seats, new e5+ models V85, V100, Stelvio, new Tuaregs require the Multimedia unit to operate, plus dealer activation of the heated seats.  We have to activate the heating circuit inside the ECU.  Interestingly enough, the power comes from the ECU, so about impossible to retrofit back to older models.  The 11MP ecus can run 4 (RSV4/Tuono V4), maybe even 8 cylinder engines, so there are spare high amp outputs to use.

"When Moto Guzzi MIA (607687M) is installed on the bike, it is possible to unlock the heating functionality, that offers 3 temperature levels to heat the rider part of the seat. Seat replacement: insert the key into the seat release lock, rotate the key, lift and remove the OEM seat, place the accessory seat, connect the electrical cable, lock the seat into position."

Okay, so the MIA is the second gen multi media platform, got that.

I bought my v85tt off the floor without a MIA or heated seat.   I later ordered the seat, plugged it in and nothing happened.   After reading the manual carefully, I found the section ED highlighted above.  I ordered the MIA, then I plugged it into the ECU myself, the dealer didn't do anything as far as activating anything, and bingo!  The seat now communicates with the bike and all is golden.  But I still can't register the dam app!
