I made a tool out of pvc tubing ready to press my uj into the bearing and while I was lining it up, it just popped straight in with a tight but loose sliding fit, sort of like what one hopes for with a feeler gauge in a valve check, .
Should I be worried about it being too loose and the uj potentially spinning? Take it out again and add some sealing compound?? any other ideas?
I defer your wisdom gents.
NB u-j is the right way round!

Old u-joint or new? Should be a snug fit in the carrier bearing. One can use a punch to make rows of marks that effectively enlarge the o.d. of the u-joint. I normally use Loctite 609 to fix the u-joint to the bearing.

u j not brand new, but not ancient, probably got a couple of thousand kms on it

I'll put some loctite 609 on it and call it good
will report back in a few years if it doesn't work out!
