Mate and I both bought 67 v700’s -his and mine both incredibly low mileage but almost polar opposite.
Mine horrific condition externally but perfect inside , his beautifully kept but truly odd fkd bits inside!
Possibly due to mine having not run in 50-60 years, his getting started often as circus trick but never warmed up and ridden.
100 cold starts doesn’t do them any good !

Rule of law in my book, if you start a bike, you ride it at least 10mi. It does more harm than good. In cold weather it creates that moisture mayonnaise goo. Constant starting with out oil pressure is also not good for oil demanding parts.
Mine ain't pretty but goes all the time and can keep up w/most 8V models, not bad for a 67 V700, open in, open out. Got 2 more 700's all apart on shelves and NOS gas tank plus another set of cyl's lined & new rings.
Glad you found another sidecover, so far I haven't sold any parts off of any of mine cept the crappy carbs. Let's see your PATINA

Its why I have the self imposed 1000 mile per year rule. If it doesn't get ridden at least 1000 miles a year it gets sold. If I want garage art I'll just buy a picture to hang on the wall. Cheaper takes up less space and no need for any maintenance.
I'm also in the don't start it unless you are going to ride it club.

I agree that's why I am going to put my 67 on the market.

Just don't hit the shifter instead of the brake on a ride in a panache. Nice Bike Joe
