Cal Sci makes several sizes of shields, but the adjustable seems like it might make the most sense for me. Does anybody here have experience with it?

I had one on my V85. Ugly but effective.

I've got a the Cal Sci on my '23 Travel. IMO, it knocked down the wind noise & buffeting that I was encountering with the OEM "tall" screen. It seems to me that some of us do not have an issue possibly because of personal physical height, head proximity to the screen, helmet syle, etc. If you're at highway speeds and move around in the saddle you'll notice where the turbulence is and isn't, it doesn't seem like there is a large area of "quiet" air on that bike. I also added aftermarket "wings" at the front turnsignal area, De Byl Tech "mouse ears" and an inexpensive laminar lip to aid in deflecting air away from the rider. Maybe the '25's are better since MG changed some of the front end aerodynamics (tank, wings, etc.). Oh well, good luck.

Have one on my 450 Himalayan— works great…
-
OEM travel screen (2022) on Palmer brackets with a winglet and it's all good to over 90 per.
-
After fiddling with numerous shields on several bike with very limited results this one looks like it would be very effective. A lot of disruptive air comes around the sides where this one seems to have addressed quite well.

Just got the CalSci shield, seems well made, but it won't fit the gen two v85. The mounting for the shield is different than the 19-23 years. So back it goes, bummer, as I really liked the added adjustability. They are looking for someone with a 24 or newer v85 (don't think we got any 24s in the US) to use for a base to make a shield for the new fairing. If your interested in helping them out, give Mark a call, you don't have to bring the bike to MO, he can explain how it works if your up for it.

I'm also looking for a tall windshield for my 2025 V85TT. The bike is in Greece though. I have a CalSci on my 2013 Stelvio and really like it. I guess I'll end up with an OEM Tall shield as the wind buffeting on the stock shield is a bit much.

I ended up buying this, much better than the stock TT, and it fits 24 and up.

This is the one I ended up with. Nice tweener not to short not to tall.

I like that. What color screen is that in the photo, is it the one you have?

so for the pre 2024 model owners, the ones with this Cal Sci, seems like people are pretty happy with it?
I'm 6'4", and with the adjustable Givi screen currently installed on my '23 i'm "happy enough", and while recognizing chasing the perfect windscreen is a questionable pursuit, I would be interested in one more notch of improvement.
Oh, and i have the wing/deflector on top... can't remember the brand, but its a common one... Puig?
As noted, everyones experience varies based on height and then a few other smaller variables, though that can lead to strongly opposing opinions. This givi screen could be "good enough" forever for me, but its a clear step down from other setups (on other models) that i've experienced (meaning that i'm not chasing a fantasy version of a windscreen... i've experienced "The perfect windscreen" for real...), and I made the clumsy mistake one day of cleaning the plastic at a gas station with dirty cleaning solution from a bucket I didn't look close enough at before using it. Doh. so a new windscreen would be nice...

The screen I have has a dark tint near the bottom and clear up top. They may come in other colors I don't know

Puig has one shown on their web site. However, I checked with a Puig dealer, and he told me Puig has yet to make one, and delivery is 3 months Plus according to Puig, and he said, expect longer.

That Givi is a nice find! Would you go with the Givi over the OEM Touring for a 25 and up?

And get yourself some of those cool side deflectors Mike!

Copy that Cam - I'm back into wind protection mode. Drove to Illinois last week just to pick up a Buffalo fairing for the Eldo...the things people do for their bikes!

I tried the big CalSci screen on my V85 and didn't care for it. The best combo I had was the large Puig screen with the little tank mounted deflectors. Nice pocket at highway speed with minimal buffeting/wind noise.
Tall CalSci that needed a deflector to work right. Big, ugly but pretty effective

Large Puig I liked best. If I still had the bike I'd consider trying these larger wings https://www.ebay.com/itm/358117413924?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-166974-028196-7&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=358117413924&targetid=2276391439863&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=1022017&poi=&campaignid=23420694361&mkgroupid=192470509673&rlsatarget=pla-2276391439863&abcId=10560150&merchantid=5608126417&geoid=1022017&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23420694361 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/358117413924?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-166974-028196-7&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=358117413924&targetid=2276391439863&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=1022017&poi=&campaignid=23420694361&mkgroupid=192470509673&rlsatarget=pla-2276391439863&abcId=10560150&merchantid=5608126417&geoid=1022017&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23420694361)

So, after numerous complaints about turbulence, buffeting & noise behind the shield of the '19-'23 v85, MG "engineers" came up with https://www.af1racing.com/oem-moto-guzzi-wind-deflector-kit-2b005113?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22479152082. It would have been nice had MG offered these FREE right out of the gate to owners of record vs letting the consumer figure out what would work to make the ride more tolerable. There's less noise & no head buffeting on my '87 LMIVSE or the '03 v11 Lemans I had but can't say the same about my v85. Wasn't MG one of the first mc manufacturers to have a wind tunnel? Why didn't they use it? Or, did they use the wind tunnel but elected to go with style over function. Oh well, I've only spent about $300 and my time trying to partially work out this issue. I now wonder if the the MG deflector kit would out perform the De Byl Technology "mouse ears", I guess I'd have to spend another $59.99 + s&h to find out. Afterall, this is my own fault, I knew/heard about this wind/noise issue with the v85's before I bought one but figured I could work through it.

Just bought a set of these. Only $50 from China, worth a try. Thanks Eric. I’ve had the larger Guzzi OEM screen since new, and it’s fine for me.

FWIW,I raised my forks about 1 3/8" and had to remove my Micky mouse ears because they don't clear the forks. I left the high fender of because I have the Aprilia fender on too and I feel the top fender was causing most of the wind problem. The 2025 is pretty clean air.

Yeah, I put a set of those on in '24, think it helped a little. I'm interested in the new (mouse ear style) deflector offering from MG thinking that someone in their engineering actually figured out what going on there and this add-on resolves the issue. However, I did notice a difference or reduction in turbulence with the De Byl deflector. When I first got the bike I removed the windshield bc the noise & buffeting was annoying but I found it more difficult to do hundreds of miles of interstate with out a screen. Almost easier on my old Lemans but it doesn't have cruise control.
