Title: V65 Exhaust Valve Spring change
Post by: Swat on March 02, 2026, 01:51:36 PM
Greetings All knowing Members
I'm in the process.of changing the exhaust valve springs on a 1984 V65C Moto Guzzzi.
I ordered the Breva Springs suggested, when I started to assemble (yes, I ordered the proper valve/ lapped it, cap& keepers)
The new spring does not fit over the boss on the old bottom cap, it almost fits, there's a keeper above the cap on the valve guide, what is the process of changing the bottom cap or what do you suggest for going forward.?
Thanks in Advance
Swat

Either modify the bottom spring seats to fit or buy the Breva 750 spring seats. The "keeper" is likely the valve guide seal and should be replaced.
