Title: Replacing OEM Fasteners
Post by: Dirk_S on March 17, 2026, 10:00:51 AM
Stainless and titanium bolts and screws are popular replacements for OEM fasteners. Other than their tendency toward galvanic corrosion (countered by using some anti-seize), are there any applications on the bike where stainless or even titanium fasteners are NOT recommended? Like perhaps caliper mounts and disc bolts?

I don't use stainless anywhere a "graded" (8.8, 10.9, 12.9) fastener is used.
