Title: V7 Classic (2010) Tank decal sourcing
Post by: DoubleGuzzi on March 23, 2026, 05:56:46 PM
At this moment I'm only researching, so no great desperate hurry for a solution - the bike isn't in my possession, just yet.
I'm looking for the original decals used on the fuel tank, which has been replaced by a metal one. I'd likely keep the existing metal eagles but would like the upper & lower gold bands and white Moto Guzzi logos.
Looking at online parts diagrams, they are not very clear and appear to show the alternative (Special) style of decals, as well as indicating they are for white and/or red tanks, not a black one.
I wondered if some kind soul could trace out the originals on their tank and somehow send an electronic copy to me, or better still in physical format if UK based. This way I may be able to get custom made ones with a close colour match.
I'm open to other ideas though can see me settling on just having a plain gloss black tank with the eagles on. Note that I've shied away from a USA source of original/pattern decals as postal rates are extortionate.

For reference, here's a photo of a new damaged plastic tank that's up for sale (not mine!).

I can work with you to draw them up if nobody comes to the rescue with actual product (I regularly create vector art and drafted up some decals for Charlie (Antietam Cycle) and Kip (Kidsmoke)

Many thanks for the offer. I'd think the MG part might be a "standard" size/font though sizing the bands could be tricky. A good guesstimate could be the best we could do?
The rest of the bike is far from immaculate, so I guess a wee bit of a variation will be acceptable.
