Title: Beetle Stelvio 5AM map
Post by: Øystein on April 03, 2026, 02:16:32 PM
Hi everyone,

I’m new here and quite new to working on my own Moto Guzzi, so please excuse any basic questions 🙂

I have a Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX 2012 (1200 8V) with IAW 5AM ECU.

The bike is running a bit uneven at low RPM, and I’ve read that the Beetle maps can make a big improvement.

My setup:

Exhaust: Stock
Lambda sensors: stock (2)
No engine modifications

I have already checked / plan to check:

Valve adjustment
Throttle body sync
TPS reset

Could someone please point me to the correct Beetle map for my setup?

Thanks a lot for any help – really appreciate it!

(Stelvio 1200 8V                 IAW 5AM PF2C)

Regards,
Øystein

For the Stelvio/Griso/Norge a Beetle map is the best $100 you will ever spend.  My Norge and Griso were transformed from rough and uneven down low to almost turbine-like smooth towers of power.

Congratulations on the Stelvio, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Here is the link to the maps.  Beetle (Mark) is also very helpful if you have questions.

You will need GuzziDiag Reader & Writer for the install. When finished you will have to adjust the idle mixture with GuzziDiag becouse it shuts off the O2 sensors. Follow Dave's link to get ahold of Bettle. Have fun

Join the Griso Ghetto here https://www.grisoghetto.com/

Mark and Pete Roper hang out there and are great sources of information.  The Ghetto is Stelvio friendly.

Also when performing your tune up set the valves per "Roper Spec" which is .004" intake and .006" exhaust, which is slightly less clearance than the factory spec.   The Beetle map is optimized for this valve lash setting.

Thank you very much for the tips and help – I really appreciate it!

I have now purchased and downloaded the map. I also have GuzziDiag set up and have bought the Lonelec cable.

I’ve just adjusted the valves to 0.10 and 0.15 as per the manual. Do you think I should check/adjust them again?

Thanks again for all the great help – much appreciated!

.10 & .15 is same as .004 &.006 so your OK Don't forget to have a charger on Battery when retrieving or downloading map to your bike, just in case.
Have fun, ride safe.

All good!  The factory recommended valve clearance was larger at one time - .15mm intake, and .20 for exhaust.  Your stated is setting is correct, and is optimum for the Beetle map.

You will enjoy the change in character of the engine!

As kinda mentioned. Save your original map just in case you need it for some odd reason!

Enjoy!
