I just want to be certain the rear seat grabrail from a V7 Classic mounts to my 2015 V7I early V7II. Please advise.

I just looked on V7 classic, V7 2014, V7II 2016 parts books AND they all use same rail mounted to the same points on ALL 3 bikes all in same place with same bar Your answer cause all the so called experts aren't so expert enough to answer you SO I looked it up FREAKING HOBBIEST can't answer a simple Q
At least I can look a pics and see the answer in parts books, not past my pay rate. Didn't compare part #'s so I may be wrong, but I answered.

Considering GuzziSteve beat us all to it with quite the eloquent response, I’ll simply add—the upper rear shock didn’t change on the V7 between 2008-2016, so yeah, you should be good. For the V7 III in 2017, they moved the shock mount back…and then forward once again for the latest generation.

I kept quiet, 'cos I didn't know the V7 Classic came with a grab rail, just grab handles (which are missing on mine). :lipsrsealed:

Of course you're correct. That's exactly what I would have done (though I'd prefer to do it from my desk and not on my phone). Then again I'm rarely at my desk these days so there's that.
However, OP could have done that too right?

Steve, eventually one of us gets around to helping a person out. Sometimes it’s not immediate. Like, I have a day job, and I SHOULD be focused on that, but I get excited about motorcycle stuff. If I know (or think I know…or think I can find the answer with a little research), I’ll often respond fairly quickly; not because I need to be the first to respond, and not because I’m a know-it-all (despite what I’m sure a bunch of people probably think); it’s because A) I like to be helpful, and B) I know not a lot of folks respond, so if I do, then someone of the small group who does often respond can reserve their patience and attention for another matter. My grandparents who raised me taught me to help when I can.
Don’t fall for “everything must be answered within the hour.” I was fairly sure the grab rail fits—if we’re indeed talking about the side handles for the passenger—but wanted to do some of the research first. Maybe the usual commenters (be they ‘hobbyists’ like myself or experts like you, but all of whom I respect for trying to help as much as they do) might’ve been in the same boat at that moment.
Jim got his answer within the day. That’s not bad. No need to crap on us because we were late to the party. You were the first to help, and you’re awesome for that.
Let’s all appreciate humans helping humans. There’s not enough of that in this world today.

That’s actually a good point. Jim, are you asking about the grab rail that pokes up behind the seat, or the grab handles on the side of the seat? To my knowledge, the 2008-2016 Heron V7s did not come with a rear grab rail; that range had side rails, either on the bike from the factory or as an official accessory.
The rear grab rail was offered on the hemi V7 III range from 2017–. Maybe one of the 3rd party vendors like H&B or Givi offered a rear grab rail for the previous V7s?
*Some OLDER small blocks appear to have had a rear grab rail as well.

But lately my normal go-to is this site linked below. Not sure that it has an official partnership with MG/Piaggio; they don’t have EVERY small block model (no ‘80s TT), and they appeared to stop with models around 2022, but the parts fiches are interactive, which is VERY helpful. You can plug in an OEM part number and see the corresponding superceded/preceded part #s and all the models the part fits:

I can't answer because I am not familiar with those models other than the V7lll. A couple of examples of what you may read in manuals etc. When I replaced my V7lll with an V7850 I wondered if the HB CBow mounts from the lll would fit the 850. According to the catalogues, no. Since I had the mounts I thought I would try. A little bending and a couple of spacers knocked out on the lathe no problem, some washers would work if a lathe isn't available. Another the CBows won't work on a T120 with a luggage track, sure it will with a could arc welder tacks. The latest one on the T3 rebuild the old Haynes manual says the distributor can't be installed with the engine in the frame. I was looking up timing procedures. Since I am changing engines the distributor was removed from the old engine while it was on the floor. The replacement engine is in the frame with the distributor on the bench. Oh sh*t, no more crabs in my shop. Well the manual is totally wrong. Whew, I didn't believe it anyway. Sometimes the only way is to try but that isn't practical if the components aren't in hand and a purchase is required. I don't know if what I am saying applies here as I read the thread quickly and may not have understood everything correctly.
