Always on a super high idle. I have had mouse nests in the air filter before, so decided to take a look.......
and found a goodsized chunk of garbage bag inside the airfilter. No real evidence of mice, just this.

As you would expect, immediately improvement. An hour we'll spent.

There is a black plastic that covers the insulation on bottom of ., maybe from there. Also the foam crumbles & goes into the box. Seen & removed both.

The foam is falling off. I blamed that on the mice also. Didn't know about the plastic. Could not understand how a piece of trash bag got in there. If it is not one thing, it is another....

Normal stuff. Aprillia makes an insulation that is silvery thinner & no foam for their fuel tanks w/stick on adhesive. For like a Tuono.

That plastic is absolutely the ill-thought-out covering over the equally ill-thought-out crumbly insulation on the bottom of the tank. Mine detached and completely covered the airbox intake somehow, rode the bike home with zero power over 3k rpm.
But what about the pliers and screwdriver? Did you find those in there also?
