Title: 1200 Sport handlebar conversion
Post by: willowstreetguzziguy on April 21, 2026, 08:04:58 PM
I’ve ridden my 1200 Sport now for 12 seasons and the 1200 Sport handlebars are becoming too much of a stretch at times. I know the Aprilla Mana handlebars have been mentioned many times. Is there any possibility of using a riser that would move the stock 12S bars slightly up and back 2 inches? Is there enough cable length to fit new bars? Any thoughts?

I run Rox risers on mine!

They look like they may work. I saw Rox 2” risers online.

How much of a rise did you get?
Were the cables long enough?

Did you have re-route any cables?
How easy were they to bolt on, was there enough clearance?
Are they OK without hitting the gas tank at full lock?
Appreciate your input.

My main concern is “Are the stock cables and wiring long enough for higher bars?” Anyone know?

Don't know specifically about the sport, but on my Griso, I put a Mana bar (narrower and more pull back than stock) with 2 inch risers on and did NOT have to modify the cables, tubing.

I am using Griso bars with a Moto Internation riser, the wiring and cables fit and it is comfortable unlike the stock 1200S bars
