Trying to positively ID my hand MC on a linked brake 1000S. My assumption would be that it would be the same unit as a LeMans 1000, however the kit offered by MG Cycle (currently OOS) for that model doesn't mention the 1000S.
The MC isn't pushing fluid, so I believe it's in need of a rebuild. It's the last piece to getting this bike on the road for the summer.
Are there markings on the MC that might definitively ID it?
Here's the kit that my powers of deduction tell me SHOULD be the right one.

Thank you for the reply! This is helpful, definitely NOT what was used on my 1000S, so likely that kit is incorrect.

Later Le Mans 1000 "Mk5" used a rectangular m/c just like the 1000S and others, designated the PS13.

Doesn't appear to be correct. Harper's has this one: https://harpermoto.com/products/master-cyl-kit-28659378
Stein-Dinse also shows that as the correct number.

Dumb question, have you tried bleeding it yet? my 92 Cal 3 ( same brakes ) needed a good cleaning and fluid change and came right back.

countless times. With two different vacuum bleedeers as well as with check valve bleeders.
Was working, took it for a ride and the front brake got progressively stiffer til the caliper locked up on the disc.
rebuilding MC, Caliper, and replaced the line.

Most likely cause is the feed-back port is plugged. It's teeny tiny and a pin might be too big. It's the smaller of the two holes at the bottom of the master reservoir.

Yes, this is a possible culprit. Hoping the ultrasonic clean will help with this.
there is still a problem however. I sourced the kit that Charlie generously linked (thanks Charlie!) It does appear to be the correct kick dispite the fact that the drawings reflect a different design, the parts themselves match the parts in my MC.
This is a retaining ring that I cannot seem to remove without having to destroy it. Thinking I'm missing something. I can destroy and remove, but then reconstruction remains a mystery? Simply a friction fit?
This is approximately the diameter of a penny, if anyove your recall what those are.

That ring should have come out with the rest of the internal bits. Never had one stay in place, so not sure how to remove it. Perhaps try an oil seal removal tool. It's a one time use retainer, so if you destroy it, no biggie.

So it's simply a friction fit. I got the edge of a screwdriver under the lip and it still wouldn't move. Very surprising. I can destroy it, but it's not logical to my brain, so I thougt I'd better ask for input. You can see all the other parts that came out, but had to be pulled becasue of that ring...

Success!
Took a dremel to it. Weakened a spot so it forgave a bit and popped out. Ultrasonic. Took a sewing pin to the micro-port Rebuilt, reinstalled. Vacuum pump worked a treat and voila! She is road ready. 3 summers later than intended, but she's a runner. Gonna have a ball.
