Title: V9 Rear Racks Differences: Clearing The Seat
Post by: Dirk_S on June 14, 2026, 03:36:00 PM
I bought a Givi rear rack for my V9 cafe for the occasion that I decide to do some light touring or overnight stays with it (like going to the vintage races with it as I planned this weekend). Unfortunately the Givi rack doesn’t allow for the V7 seat that I have mounted to fit. Does anyone know if any other rear rack made for the V9 perhaps sit back a little farther than the Givi? It looks like Guzzi has at two different rear racks for the pre-2021 V9 lineup. Maybe one of those might work better?

In related news, I guess I have a brand new Givi rear rack to sell or trade  :embarrassed:

On my '74 V7 sport, I use a small duffle bag. 19" long / 10"-12" diameter riding on the back of the bench seat. It held everything I needed for a week or a month trip.

I’ve lived without a rear rack before, but I guess I’m wary of smashing the seat too much and/or damaging the tail light. Going to the races, if I (continue to) race occasionally, I’d be bringing tools, camping gear, etc.

Since you mentioned racing, I under stand your need for more carry-on space. I assume you remove the rack when at the track.

Yep, as well as lights and kick stand, hence why a lift stand is ANOTHER item that’s added to the list of luggage.
