Hello,
My new-to-me 98 V11 EV is not getting spark at the plugs, has 12v at the positive wire going to the coils and no voltage going to the neg wire going to the coils. Is that correct? Also, a three pin plug coming out of ECU (White, purple and blue wires) is not connected to anything (where does this go?) and I have a three pin plug nearby that has a yellow wire that loops back into the same three pin plug. How do I use these two, three-pin plugs?
Thanks,
Brett

That 3 pin is the diagnostic plug & the other is plugged into it to give you the diag flashes on an LED light by corner of seat bracket. It flashes to give you a code or not a code. You need to read the FI manual. ECU sends power to a ignition relay. There are safety switches also, like on sidestand.

Also check and see if the injectors are squirting gas. If not, with no spark and no injector gas the cam position sensor has probably failed.

There are TWO timing sensors on that bike. If they get dirty, which is common, then there is no spark of injection.
