Since I purchased my Norge the button for the E-flashers has been sealed with what appears to be red rtb sealant. I recall the PO referring to problems related to moisture and blowing fuses. I am considering trying to restore this function. Does anybody recall if this is a known problem and should I leave it alone? So far I have ridden hundreds of miles in rain and had no problems but the flasher function would be a nice safety feel-good for me to have available Update !! I got the goo removed and the switch appears to operate however nothing happens
Anyone that can give me a quick lesson on where to start diagnosis before I try to take the switch assembly apart.Im really not sure what relay starts this function

Buy a rubber covered start button and leave stock button alone. Run wires to your button.

The hazard light switch shares its power supply with other controls, so I don't think it is the only one affected by water ingress. The outputs controlling the turn signals might be short-circuited, but if that were the case, the turn signals wouldn't work at all. Therefore, I see no issue with cleaning the red resin off the button and trying to use it.

Just bumping this up hoping someone can help me
UPDATE
I cleaned the switch and it feels like it is working
Nothing happens when I push it
I don't know whether to attempt to take the handlebar switch apart or if there is another location to use a meter or jumper to check. Does this function use a relay that someone can help me locate ?
Should this switch feel like is latching it does not now

That switch is not connected to a relay but directly to the dashboard only and is not a bistable button. Only push it one time and the logic of dashboard activate the flashers. Push it again and the flashers are turned off.
