My V9 felt TOO naked and light, and was begging for a center stand, so I bought one of those dirt-cheap stands on eBay that I’m guessing are also available from Ali Express / Alibaba / Temu / Amazon / back alleys in every Chinatown in America. You’ll see on the listing that I bought a stand advertised for a V7 II / III / 850, but considering the mounting down under is the same between a V7 III and a V9, I opted to give it a whirl BECAUSE JUST LOOK AT THAT PRICE OMG:

They look like Hepco & Becker knockoffs, but like…available at a non-Euro price. Received it today. Installed it today. Used it today. And not bad, actually. Instructions were surprisingly clear—nearly complete sunny skies in comprehension points EXCEPT there was no mention what to do with the third M10 washer, but considering I had quite the gap in the mounting between the stand and its support bracket, I wagered that might be the spot.

The kick lever is hollow and attached via an M6 bolt—much like many inexpensive kickstands. A little wobbly, sure, but if it saves in shipping costs to not weld a long-ass shaft, then wobble away. On a positive note—the lever is originally designed to clear the honkin’ sized mufflers and thus sticks ridiculously farther out than necessary for my shorty cones; that removable, hollow kick lever can simply be chopped down like I’m freakin’ MacGyver on a mission to shorten a kick lever in order to diffuse a bomb…somehow.

The cross member/ stand mounting bracket is similar to the H-B version in that it utilizes a screw that threads into the little recessed hole that the factory cross member used for secured placement. I had to play around with the positioning a little before it finally threaded in.
The ONLY bugger is that the cross bars that rest directly under the frame rails aren’t as long as the H-B stand’s, and therefore don’t create the utmost confidence in weight support against the frame. Otherwise, I’m pleased. I mean, it almost gets the rear wheel off the ground (I have longer rear shocks on and feel safe in assuming that stock shocks would allow the rear wheel to float off the ground).
