Title: Centauro issues, I have 'em!
Post by: Bobbity on July 17, 2026, 09:04:13 PM: '98 Centauro...ran fine until it didn't. It decided it would turn over, but not fire. The next time I tried, it turned a couple times, then decided to play dead. Now, it's alternating between playing dead and sometimes letting dash lights come on. I feel a click at the relay board, but only intermittently. I have a factory manual, but the wiring diagrams are missing. Can anyone point me to one? My mechanical skills are average, but I'm willing to try. I was in some Guzzi groups on FB, but they are keeping me in FB jail, for some reason. So, I can't ask there.

What was said before 100% things I would check. Also check your ground wire, and positive battery cable. A cable with bad solder can drive you nuts.

the cam phase sensor can go bad. Caused all kinds of stalling and non starting issues on my bike. Cheap part and an easy fix if that's your issue.

Post by: JoeB on July 18, 2026, 06:43:02 AM: If the Centauro is similar to the EV's of that era there is another sensor for the flywheel, on the housing beside the right throttle body. It runs dry and can collect debris. Simple to pull and wipe off.

Post by: Tom H on July 18, 2026, 12:11:45 PM: Have you checked the battery? With a multi meter, when you hit the starter button, what's the voltage? When was it last replaced?

Sounds like a battery issue?

Post by: guzzisteve on July 18, 2026, 12:26:17 PM: Dead battery, ain't cheap, AGM lays on it's side. With out a new battery don't expect the relays to have enough voltage.
