After now having both knees replaced, when I can get back on the bike again, my goal is to have AA or AAA protection pants.

Good video - I wish moto gear was actually comfortable to wear/walk around in and didn't take 20 minutes to put on! :) I often get up thinking, "I'm going to ride today," then look at the gear and say "Screw it, let's take the car!" ;)

My airbag vest usually stays on the rack. Pain in the butt to put on, heavy and hot. I only use it on longer rides. Would probably be needed more in town due to all the non-attentive and late to work drivers.

I guess I’m maybe too ole school but personally I believe in and trust my experience, training, bike maintenance and common sense for the majority of my protection. The rest I leave to fate.

It's amazing how little protection most gear really offers against an accident. Especially the denim "riding jeans." I've got racks of riding gear and now I know most would offer only a second or two before it was shredded (and then my skin). My only hope is that I land on the "armor" and it holds up long enough until I stop. And, as the article mentions, most riding jeans offer no extra protection in your butt, and there is a good chance that is one area you will slide on. Then there's mesh jackets. I've got an old "Olympia" (remember them?) mesh jacket I dearly love in hot weather, but it has reached a point that I should just toss it.

I just bought a pair of riding jeans from Old Soul. They seem to fit her description of quality protection. Hope I don't have to find out.

The Pando Moto AA and AAA gear seems quite nice. But yes, quite expensive and difficult to try on for size.

Started with jeans 79, in 80 wife and I graduated to real leather coats, 81 real leather pants, always full ankle covering boots, full face helmets and leather gloves. 2006 both full Aero Stitch rider gear. Now I have a Hit Air coat ( air bags), wife still full Aero Stitch. Seen too many folks take way too long to heal. One high school buddy still gets bits of rock popping out of skin from a crash in 1973. Now at 73 my wife and I count our blessings neither of us have gone down. Thankfully our gear has never been tested. Seriously knocking on wood now. Worst injury my wife had is a hip injury from trying to pull her side stand up on her 04 Stone. I now wait until she’s on her bike and I bring her kick stand in before I get on my bike. It’s the price I pay to keep her riding her own bike. Definitely first world problems.

Yeah, we’ve had this one before Chad and you enlightened me as to why that might be in your case. You’ll doubtless notice that I have been (relatively) quiet on the issue.
But.
I can and do resist the urge many, many times on these pages and you very rarely get anything wrong since we spoke.
I just do not know why peeple don’t proof read their stuff.
