Title: Extra cable length on Breva 1200?
Post by: willowstreetguzziguy on August 10, 2026, 01:16:24 PM
Thinking of adding 2” Rox risers on my 2008 1200 Sport. Has anyone raised their handlebars and seen if there is extra cable lengths under the tank and frame on either a 1200 Breva or 1200 Sport? I realize that some zip ties may need loosening and rerouting for it to be done. Anyone tried it?

To answer my own question… yes, just enough.

You must have gotten after it. Found out a positive outcome. You might find the answer in the archives from 09 or 10. I can't remember back then. Bikes come & go at dealers

Don’t need to find the answer. I found 2+ additional inches of cables and wires. Job done.

I had them on my 1200 Sport with the Aprilia Mana Bars. I did have to open the headlight bucket and cut/replace some zip ties to get all the controls and wiring to not be stressed. Can't remember which but either the brake or clutch lines were at their limit.

Yes, the brake and clutch cables were at their limit. Just got back from a 65 mile ride this morning and it feels great!

Was 6 years ago but IIRC, I rotated the bars and MC units and even loosened the banjos to make things stress free. Glad to see you still have yours. Part of me misses mine, mainly for the look and overall performance, but with a Griso and Norge in the Stable, it hardly was ridden. I traded it with the Breva 750 towards the V85. Happy with the decision.

I think it is still for sale at Hamlins. 78K miles, but is in near perfect condition with NO issues and a new (2022) Dash. Looks like he took off the 12S Fairing and seat with Cowl and put on a nice set of bags and larger windscreen.
