Moving this topic from the build section to general discussion
I have been away from the Wildguzzi family for quite a long time, had to deal with a bought of cancer two years ago, thankfully it’s behind me now. For the past year I have been building my forever home with a garage / shop that meets all my wish lists. As I get closer to completion of the build I am getting an itch to take on a new project.
I have been interested in the Tri-King three wheeler kits out of the United Kingdom for a long time.
I don't have a donor Guzzi yet, would like to find a low mile 1100 or 1200 Sport or similar to start with.
I have never seen one in the flesh let alone drove (ridden?) one.
Anyone ever driven one?
What are your thoughts on them?
If you have built one would you do it again?
I got started with Guzzis having never ridden one and bought my 72 Eldorado project sight unseen as a basket case and that has led to a love affair with the brand and many restorations over the years, I guess what I am saying is I don’t worry about taking the plunge on a Tri-King but it would be great to hear from someone who has even limited experience with them.
Thanks in advance
Jim

My Facebook friend Patrick Roush in Burien, WA has an early one (chassis #17). I'm sure he could answer any questions you have.

I'd love to have one myself. Years ago a "barn fresh" one showed up at a Bikes & Breakfast event in Clifton, VA. I tracked down the owner and asked about buying it, but got the usual "I'm going to restore it one day" answer. :undecided:

Glad your back Jim! Can't help you on the Tri King but am looking forward to this build when it goes through your capable hands. Looking forward to seeing the new shop too! Congrats on the house.

Best news ever: the cancer is behind me now. Congratulations Jim.
I have nothing to offer on the trike kit as I have no experience with them.

Jim: There was a fellow in Calgary about 10 years ago building Morgan replicas, I purchased all of the left over California parts that were not used in the builds. I do not have his contact info but you may be able to locate someone via Facebook etc. who may know of this dude. DonG

There are several 1100 Cali's for sale down here in Seattle WA, about 600 miles from you, Including my own low Mileage 1 owner pristine 03 EV Hydro from Moto Intl with warranty service records. Good luck with your project.

The latest Triking uses a "CARC" drivetrain. http://www.type4.trikingsportscars.co.uk/

That’s good to know Charlie, thank you, I am keeping a lookout for a Griso or similar model, not in a rush and it may take awhile to find one in western Canada.

Brevas and Norges seem to be the most common and least expensive. I prefer the 2V engine.
Triking was very helpful on the "1200 Ambassador" project I've built for a customer. There was no way I could have modified the Norge harness to work myself, so I sent it them and they did it. This was the first start, after I mocked it up. It's since been torn down and everything made pretty, just about finished. https://youtu.be/QynKxtPK01k?si=aIU_G5VCdbgvNCTV

I wasn't aware of this vehicle. I thought you were building a Guzzi based Road Glide-like trike. Wish Guzzi would . But looking forward to seeing your build!
