Title: New Street Bob FXBB 117
Post by: kballowe on August 15, 2026, 06:08:36 AM
I stopped by the Harley dealer to get a couple oil filters, and this 2026 Harley Street Bob followed me home.
ABS, cruise, TPMS with readout and a few other non essentials.

I must have been living under a rock because it appears that they're all 117 cu in motors now.
I only managed 60 miles yesterday evening but I am liking it just fine.
Oooof what a beast, even in rain mode.

My first brand new Harley in ten years.
It'll keep good company with the other one.

More like really long stroke. Nice bikes, lots of torque. Too big for me in my old age but the really low seats and low center of gravity make them easy to ride.

LOL - I had to go and look it up.

Wikipedia says:

"The Harley-Davidson Milwaukee-8 117 engine has a bore of 4.075 inches and a stroke of 4.5 inches".

Nice.  The Harley dealer in Chattanooga has the same bike on the floor with a custom red metalflake paint job.  It looks fantastic.  Very tempting.

I am too [censored] old for these mid controls and so I went back to the dealer yesterday and bought a set of forward controls.  Their parts guys are way too enthusiastic - and they know every accessory that fits that bike, right off the top of their head.

My last Harley was a Wide Glide with the forward controls standard.  I really liked it set up like that.  Also, since the bike was a cruiser, it just seemed "right" to me.

Last H-D I had was a brand new FRX-1985.
Gotta say the new SuperGlide has me thinking as I also had one of the 1971 glide bikes with the boat tail.

I installed those forward controls and it was a beautiful day for a 300+ mile run.
And what a difference.  It's very comfortable now, right down to the seat.

Floor board on one side and foot peg on the other? Is that how they come new?

Doh! Pics of two different bikes! I was so confused. Ignore and carry on.
