A concept Griso based bike from Rosso Puro. I love it.

Wow.
-
Filipo does it again. ;-T
Aside from the fact it looks 27 feet long and those open pipes would set off car alarms 2 miles away...I dig it.

Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder, I guess.

and the handlebars look about 2" lower then your butt :D
Good looking bike though!
-
The bars are that height so you can get your chin below the shield. ;D
-
I like it, something different for a change. ;-T ;-T
not long though, until the iron butt crew will settle in, to tell that this ain't a bike
made for all day long riding.

should be real, I typed "sheepskin motorcycle seat cover" as a search word.
how did you all like it, I laughed a lot about it, especially about the logo.
;D
Yea, I liked it but it looks more like bunny that sheep.

Jesus. What latrine did they have to excavate to find that?
Every time I see a 'New' attempt to 'Modernise' the Griso I realize just how damn good the original design was.
Yes, *we* all want a 'Nuovo LeMans'/ 'Sports-Guzzi'. None of these hideous piles of whaleshit come even close to cutting the mustard.
It looks like a Griso that has been rogered by a hammerhead shark and then allowed to drop from the very top branch of the largest ugly tree on the planet and has hit every branch on the way down before landing in a sewer.
It's hideous! It has no redeeming features at all. It is simply vile.
The things you see when you haven't got a gun!!!!
YOMV, but it would be
WRONG!
There is an idiot in Canberra who has an early Mk I LeMans with Ape Hangers on it. His bike, he can do what he likes with it. Doesn't stop it being ghastly on every conceivable level!!!

I love your comment alltho I do not completely agree on the fugliness part.
It has potential... use some rattle cans of black paint, sledge hammer and some duct tape... and it would look way better. But then again, so would the original griso IMO.
Every new from the factory guzzi I have seen so far needs some work done to improve it.... but then again, different tastes....
-
;D :D :D :D!
NAH. I know the Griso isn't to everyone's taste. I feel much the same about the Breva and Sport 1200. To my mind that is a 24 carrat uglybike. Only surpassed in the Guzzi line-up by the V7 'Racer', especially the one's with the 'Sputtering', (Don't ask me? It's what Guzzi call that vile faux-chrome finish.) tank. Man that is one hideous motorbike in my book. The V7 'Cafe' is just so much nicer. That's all good though, there is no right and wrong, baring the fact I'm right and you're wrong!!!! ~; ;D

Here's another angle on the bike.

I kinda like it

I'd like to see it on the pavement outside the Chrysler building with a grand piano on top of it that had just been tossed off the 25th floor but I'm well known for my tollerance and understanding.

I hope to see people like you on the pavement!!The reason why Moto Guzzi will never improve his bikes are people like you, old and backward!! :beat_horse
I saw this bike at the show in Italy and it is wonderful!!

Liked it better before I saw the headlight.
-
the 'Sputtering', (Don't ask me? It's what Guzzi call that vile faux-chrome finish.) tank.
It's the name of the manufacturing process that applies the faux chrome..
But, don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel about it. ;D :pop

To me, it looks like a butchered Griso. I prefer the three Terblanche concept bikes. They had some interesting and innovative details like the rear view cameras on the valve covers, the finned oil coolers up by the steering head, the flip up seat/tank and the horizontal shock mounted just above the swing arm.

looks really cool. Great for a concept bike or limited production. Evokes the SPOrT 1100.
Gives me hope the basic Grisso platform can be built into a new LeMans or Sport production bike. I don't see down side here.

I like it alot up until it gets to the seat. It's just way to short. I don't like the exhaust either. It makes the long wheel base Griso look like a long bed pick up. If the seat section was lower and extended further it would balance the bike out. Right now it looks like they ran out of time when it got to the seat and rear fender.

Not a big Terblanche fan, but I do like that Tenni Green Supermoto-looking thing... ;-T Some very nice machined bits on those show bikes. I wonder how many of those trick bits are from his pen and how many came from the minds of the engineers on the projects?
Oh, and forget the Pirelli Angels, where can I get me a set of those slicks with the Guzzi Eagle cut into 'em?!

I used to make my living doing this kind of stuff. Most of the time, it's the engineering model maker that comes up with the trick bits.. ;D

Exactly. This is a thread to sit back and enjoy. Pete will be providing the fireworks...
Nah. I just thought it was hillarious that someone's first post should be taking a swipe at someone who had posted something obviously in jest. He is French though so perhaps the humour was lost on him.
Anyway I still think it's a hideous piece of junk. Funny that I'm the old fart when its usually me asking others to 'Get with the programme' and stop stop trying to remain trapped like flies in the amber of the 1970's!!!! ;D

I agree with most of that. Why put out an effort to do the same thing all the other guys are doing? IMO, most of those tank-humping designs like that awful ducati a few comments up are hideous. But like that booger that sticks to you finger or a used condom with static cling, they just don't go away.

Then I double what I said. That is a very sad example of machinery.

Why worry about the seat? This is not a bike you sit on. You're supposed to hang off the inboard side while you turn, then crawl up on the tank as you accelerate. Your butt really shouldn't get involved in this relationship.
Amirite?

But Vasco, Amber, to some of us, is GOLDEN... ;-T ;-T ;-T
Yes, I'm "Stuck in Time" in regards to '70s Cafer Racers...
Probably for the many of the same reasons that I think that the Best American Muscle Cars were built between 1965 and 1971...
They simply are Machines at the apex of the design theme to me..
YMMV, and all that... :)

No problem with that Mike. I too am very fond of designs of that period. I just don't think that there is much to be gained by simply 'Reinventing' the same styling cues endlessly and serving them up as *new*.
As I just said, I love the V7 Cafe. If immitation is the sincerest form of flattery the 'Cafe' does it well whereas the 'Racer is just a vulgar nightmare, (IMO ::))
Freshness in styling design requires moving forward and change/novelty. My belief is that certain Guzzis, the Centauro and it's bastard offspring the Griso epitomise that. The bike that was featured that started this thread simply, to me at least, seems to be trying to make a base package look like 'Something Else' and to me that 'Something Else' looks boring and derivative and harks back most closely to the Kawasaki GPz900 of, (Good God!) probably close to 30 years ago from Japan.
If the best these people can do is immitate a set of thirty year old design cues I'm afraid it holds exactly zero interest for me, (The GPz 900 was a truly fantastic, iconic machine.).
'New' means novel and, hopefully, exciting. To me that bike is neither novel or exciting, it is hackneyed, boring and derivative.
Please note that these are MY OPINIONS and hold precisely no more or less value than any other person's on the innerneck.

At least use the proper language to curse, jebo vam pas mater vola u pičku!
Got this from a friends post on FB (you can also catch him on lifeisaroad.com), Daniel Meyer:
"A seasonal ill...making folks "testy" on some of the forums I frequent...
PMS and Forumites (a work in progress)
Twas the month after Christmas
And all through the net
Controversy was building
Tempers put to the test
The forumites were stirring
All smug in their views
Inane and extreme posts
Flowed fast and flowed loose.
The admins all hustled
From one board to ‘nuther
Whacking some posts
And editing some others
Explaining the rules
For the ten-thousandth time
It’s not that complex
What’s wrong with these guys?
Cruising the posts
Now what the heck’s up?
Oh crap, not him again
Will that guy ever shut up?
Now Obama! Now Bush! Now Gingrich! Now Clinton!
On Jesus! On Odin! On Santorum! On Nixon! (Nixon? WTF?)
“You’ve got the wrong oil!” “You mentioned your god!”
“You ride a Honda!” “Well you ride a hog!”
“I’ll buy you a beer if I don’t kill you first.”
“Hey I don’t even ride!” “Hey I hate your shirts!”
What’s wrong with these guys?
Well the problem’s well known
Just exactly like last year
It’s *PMS*, that's Parked Motorcycle Syndrome.
So what do we do for this seasonal ill?
Do we ban? Do we cancel? Do we change? Do we kill?
“Let’s vote” scream the few
“Let’s quit” says another
“Let’s all praise the admins”
Says one enthusiastic brother
On every topic some “experts” must post
Intent to divide, and a post count to make most.
“This’ll make these guys riled, regardless of merit
Wait, no one’s arguing? I MUST dangle this carrot!”
Civility and restraint would calm this with reason
“But I’ve got a point to prove! And hey, tis the season!”
“Shut up all you guys!” say some, “I’ll take my ball and go home!”
Feeding the trolls they are, the equivalent of filet mignon.
“Off –topic should go elsewhere”
Screams part of the hoard
“But,” groans the admin,
“It’s an off-topic board!”
And the admin stare dumfounded
And put their head down a bit
“Don’t these guys realize
We don’t get paid for this sh!t?”
As for this boy from Texas
Does he have any advice?
Well yeah, ya durn fools!
Just try to be nice!
Don’t like a topic?
Don’t check out that note
There’s plenty to read
That won’t get your goat
Ticked off ‘bout that guy?
Gonna give him what-for?
Calm yourself a moment
There’s no need to roar.
I’ll leave you with this
‘Cause right now I’m fried
Happy New year to all
Now SHUT UP AND RIDE!"

Tazturtle,

One of the ‘problems’ with these ‘conceptual’ designs is that their purpose is to challenge they way we think of an object. While that’s fine for something like a tablet PC or other consumable it gets a bit tricky when it’s a large lump of expensive mechanical art. No matter how much we consider ourselves risk takers and mould breakers we quietly realise that one day we are going to have to rock up and trade that puppy in (or sell it on) and our inner brain is quietly saying – ‘It will devalue like a stone and cost you everything you have’.
Of course it ‘may’ become a highly desirable collectable at some future date but even then it’s a case of ‘eventually’ becoming one – first guy to trade one in takes a bath!
Most motorcyclists are archly conservative and tend to buy derivatives of stuff they recognise and that share common values with other similar items owned by their friends.
It’s a nicely built bike that looks like it could run well but even accepting the statements above it still does not turn my crank at all…..

Well, no matter your opinion on this example, at least it is a much better attempt than the Victory Ness-Cafe.

I saw it on The KneeSlider today. I like lots of the little detail bits. Overall its photographs well but those pipes would be difficult to live with...for anyone within a mile.

More press for the Moto Guzzi Griso “Ipothesys”. It was just featured on Bikeexif.com
http://www.bikeexif.com/griso-custom
The bike has it's own website now. They are trying to make it into a new motorcycle brand.

I noticed it was getting a second run of publicity. Been on Facebook again too. I'd love to have a ride of one ;-T

I remeber it discussed in another thread a while ago and wrote it off as another design students wet dream, Pete probably quiet right wrote it off as a poorly though out pice of munt. Despite all this is actually exists. http://www.bikeexif.com/griso-custom

THAT is what I would do for a custom exhaust. Screw $500 for a slip on...$25 for a saws-all will expose the single-sided swing arm, give a free-flow exhaust, and give an ever so slight increase in exhaust-note tone...

After your ears stop bleeding you'd hardly notice!
I'm thinking there is some kind of baffle system in the setup somewhere.

I reckon it looks really good from the front/side view of the first shot, but bloody crap from the other angles!
That fairing on a standard Griso would probably look good though.

That's the Ipothesys. There have been a couple of threads on that and as expected opinions are "wildly" divided!
I like it.
Also like this 8V concept by Luca Bar. Called the "S4" - draws on the S3 legacy. The 4 refers to the valves rather than the 3's brake discs. I'm sure this will divide opinion also!

Looks like something Guzzi should be making, instead of that POS 1400 California. Bring back SEXY!!!

Apologies if this has been shown before - find it hard to keep up on this active forum :-)
I mentioned the German company Guzzi Laden in relation to another matter and went back to their site for a look and saw this special I thought people might like to see - as say apologies if been featured before.

My sports bike days are long gone and in truth never really existed :-) but a bike from the factory along these lines wouldn't go amiss and would perhaps justify bringing back the Le Mans name.

First street-legal sample. Some changes was needed for the prototype to obtain homologation.

It's not necessarily my cup of tea but I like it.

Still looks like a blast to ride to me. Not an iron butt machine, but what sportsbike is. Doesn't look any more uncomfortable than your average Duc.

Think how boring this world would be if we all liked the same things.

Any publicity or recognition for Guzzi is all good. Don't like it don't buy I wouldn't either, but they could have chosen any number of bikes for the exercise - Glad it was a Goose.

It's got great lines, but not quite enough of them.

(http://s7.postimage.org/dofmtuz0n/Guzzi_concept_2.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/dofmtuz0n/)
That grey bit with the Eagle is actually the fender. One of the other two has about a four inch rear fender back by the tail light with the part under the seat catching the rest of the spray...
Bu the way, a comment was made earlier about rear view cameras on the concept machine's valve covers. Been wondering since those pictures first came out just what those are. Look like some sort of breather but that seems contrary to the concept of sealed sump or crank case. What are they?
I wouldn't have an Ipothesys but mostly because I know too well I'd do nothing but get into serious trouble on one!

Actually, if you look closely at the front tire, you'll see the eagle-embossing below the fender, towards the ground, as well. Very cool rubber!

You're quite correct. Guess I am closer to blind than I thought. I see the eagle on the lower portion of the rear tire too, now that I look closely. Maybe that's the trick, huh? Looking closely reveals a thing or three. Still wonder about those 'cameras'.
-
I would say that those are indeed cameras on the valve covers; if you "look closely" ( ;D ) at the "mirrors", it seems that they are screens of some sort, and not mirrored glass. Hope those cameras can deal with some serious heat!

Looks like a drag bike.

Not sure if it'd take my mind off that white Ducati 848 in the showroom window, but really, this is a great looking front end of a bike! It's perfect!

Ignoring the girls, ;), is the motor an old '29 cammy Ajay?

Nice workmanship.
Fairing looks good.

:+1 sweet

nice

They did a great job then dropped the ball with that oil cooler. It could use a nice formed frame in the same red color so it goes with the rest of the bike.
And a center stand. ::)

The pipes will make it a pig.

I like the bike , but all I keep seeing is that teeny tiny seat . Ouch
Dusty
-
I like all it except for the bobbed off tail secction
-
Looks a bit too Franken- for me. Plus, part of what I love about Grisos is the classic naked look, and the fairings do it no favors in my mind.
-
Looks like these are moving beyond the show bike of a couple years ago and going into production.
Pete will pop a blood vessel at what they have done to his Bella Donna, but I like it!

I just added it all up--- 13,940 Euro's + Forks + Griso , I think if I had the cash, I would rather buy a house!! Nice bike if you are wealthy.

run out of gas at 80 miles?
-
Its been posted half a dozen times before. Crass, noisy, ugly and it won't work very well. It'll definitely appeal to someone. Probably the Hipster classes.

Is that a bigger fuel tank? Looks like it would fit on the Griso.

It is a Griso with a kit you can order from.

Yeah, Ive posted pics of that too. I like it. It's gotta be expensive. Nobody offers the kit in the USA yet.

I like those Rims. Maybe an option...

Just saw this bike on Facebook. Why can't Guzzi make something like this? Or is the brand doomed to large cruisers now?
