Another option or addition would be the Guzzi Accessory Luggage Rack and a V7 Classic bench seat.
Then, you could strap on a duffle bag longitudinally behind you.
Plenty of room for any touring.

I have a black V7 rack sitting on the shelf in my garage. I'll make you a helluva deal on it, if you want to try going that direction.
The duffle longitudinally on a bike works really nice. I do it on my Sport 1100. Did it a couple times on my V7C.

Even though I'm adding both side and top case brackets to my Stone, I personally think the sidecase brackets have less of a visual impact than the topcase/luggage rack brackets.

I don't disagree with you on the panniers, but H+B hasn't come out with a part number for the Cafe/Racer version. The upswept pipes mean a person would have to do some cutting/welding to make the pannier racks work.

They are a nice rack. My wife runs one on her V7C most of the time.
Don't forget you will need to invert your Bitubo shocks to run the rack (or grab rails) on a V7R. If you need it I have the printed instructions from MG here for doing that.

It'll interfere with the racks, not just the bags?
What did Telico do when he added racks to a café? Change pipes or alter racks?
I wonder if simple one bolt racks for some Harleys could be adapted.
If the one fender bolt was used, and reversed a large wing nut could be used to make them detachable.

Take a closer look at Tellico's bike. It started out as a Classic and was morphed into a Stucchi Cafe. A black/Gold Classic, IIRC.
The mounting points for the pannier racks at the footpeg bracket is the problem. Different footpeg brackets with mounts in different places.
Tellico's bike has Classic exhaust and passenger pegs

Would you share the instructions on installing the V7R rack please? I also have been trying to find a pix of the rack on any V7.
The black one looks like a gem. I wish to get a visual first, and see if different bolts are needed, and what is involved in the install. My guess is I would have MPH do the work to be sure everything is done right and safe.

The rack is held on by four bolts. The same four bolts that hold on the factory grab rail. Two top shock mounts and two frame rail mounts.

Lucy, do what you want, but you won't find a more simple accessory to install yourself should you want to try it yourself.

My wife removed her V7C luggage rack on her own this weekend - it's very easy. 4 bolts - one on either side of the rear guard - 5mm allen key on the inside, 13mm crown nut on the outside. The other two are the top shock mounting bolts - 5mm allen key as well.
Your V7R guard bolts will be the reverse - 13mm nyloc nut on the inside of the guard, 5mm allen bolt on the outside - just reverse the bolts. You will also lose your fancy drilled billet alloy washers at the top of your shocks as they won't fit with the rack installed :(.

Thanks for your information. At times I am wary of unbolting shocks, etc from bikes. Having some instructions would be very helpful indeed.
I did a lot of work on my old Kawasaki EX 500, but there was a huge amount of online tutorials, videos and such, and I had a shop manual. For the Guzzi: not much out there and I am far from a mechanical genius.
Given that, I love doing work myself especially when the garage is cool this time of year. On the Ninja I tried to install some rear frame sliders that replaced rear pegs. I could never get the large bolts to break loose, and ended up rounding them off they were torqued or rusted on? The last thing I want to do is something similar on the V7R, but I really want a rear rack.

The key to shocks is not to completely unbolt both at the same time if you can avoid it, otherwise you will need to support the bike either with a strap of some sort through the rear upper frame or with a jack/lift of some sort (even a floor jack SHOULD do under the motor with some wooden blocks, just don't shake the bike too much and you'll be fine).

Buying the black rack and MPH is doing the install for me. A visit to the toy store is always fun anyway. I will let the experts handle the job.
Heck I could sit on a Griso. Heck, I could have a set of Arrows installed at the same time.

A black rear rack in the mail and I will have MPH install next weekend. This may solve most of my desired storage issue with the V7R. Light camping might work with a trunk and small side bags and a tank bag. Thanks to all.
Still pondering pipes...no rush.
Wow it is a beautiful weekend. Tomorrow and Sunday the goose will get exercised!! ;D

I'm sure your rack is now long fitted Greg, but I *finally* found the instructions for reversing the shocks (I had put them away somewhere "safe" in our bike shed).
These are the ones that come with the V7R dual seat kit, so they don't cover the rack installation but do cover the necessary shock reversal for fitting the handrails - which are the same design as that section of the factory Guzzi rack, so have exactly the same mounting points as your rack.

Thanks so much, now I "understand" the meaning of shock reversal. I took the bike to MPH Friday afternoon...they are working the rack install. It appears to me to not be so simple. Hopefully I will have the bike back this coming Friday, if I can get my wife to drive me in, she is "busy". Looks like I will have to take a half day vacation also to fit her schedule.

not sure if this is answer to your question.
I remember when Carl got that bike. The bag mounts were uneven when looking at the bike from the rear. I think the right bag (portside) stuck out another 6 inches compared to the left one (or vice versa). I can't remember why.
