I emailed the dealer for more info on size. Maybe you can help. I am not sure if L or XL is best. I wear a size 42 sport coat, my arms are pretty short and neck 18 inch, my chest is barrel shaped. Any hints? It looks like a good fall/winter/spring jacket for Houston. I don't want to go through the buy/try on/return cycle, etc.

One of the very few Dainese jackets that doesn't have the logo plastered every which way. But I am always wary when a seller mentions a high quality brand and then includes no photos of a tag that indicates that brand.
But the photo is obviously taken in a retail store so it's unlikely he's lying. I just assume everyone on the internet is a crook.

Med are $312 , not sure why so much more for the Med. !!!!

Yep, that's why I said "a version of." The Adriatic is new for 2015 I think. Dainese changes models with baffling frequency.
