Title: Is there a new Le Mans, (with the new liquid cooled motor), in our future?
Post by: rocker59 on January 25, 2014, 09:20:27 PM
Rumor thread has started over at Guzzitech.  http://forum.guzzitech.com/forum/topic?f=240&t=12375

We may as well have one, too.

Here it is, under wraps:

I can see a high tail and what look like the ends of low clipons and the end of a brake lever poking out from the cover.  Looks sporty.  Not a standard replacement for the Griso.  Not a sport-tourer.

Here's an artist's concept.

My guess is that it's in a chassis that is a development of the 2009 Terblanche/Galluzzi V12LM showbike.

Now, rumors also say it has a liquid-cooled 1300cc mill.  Is it all new?  Or, is it Big Bore-style with liquid-cooled heads on the existing lower end?  Hmmm....  I can't wait to see more !!!

 :PICS!: :PICS!:

Very cool. I will say the Artist's Concept looks a lot like an R1100S...'

Yes, vague resemblance. Let's hope it runs better. I only kept my R1100S for six months.

How to say this in a nice way , hmm , um , thinking , OK how is this . Pierre Terblanche's designs leave me uninspired . Has the man ever looked at anything organic?

Hopefully it will come to fruition and won't be some sort of horrible 'Retro' shitbox. If it is actually going to happen any time soon, and I'd have to say given the European and American markets I'd be surprised, it will hopefully be a fully 'Clean Sheet' design from the ground up.

Would I buy one? Probably not, it would almost certainly be too uncomfortable for me and I think my Griso, (Which as I've said is a bike that it appears was designed 'Just For Me' ;D) will see me out. If I was going to buy another bike with true sporting pretensions I would of bought a TV-4. As it is though I know that a new 'Sporting' Guzzi is something a lot of people have been hanging out for.

Do us a favour though. Buy them if they appear. Don't just moan and find fault! ??? ::)

under the cover looks like a pretty tall windshield/fairing and the tail hump looks way exaggerated and too tall. when will it be revealed?

Didn't that have a plastic frame? Fail!

The exposed sump fairing in that picture sure looks alot like the colors and logos on the MAS12 from Mandello Racing.

Supposedly, the show bike did.  I liked the design, but would prefer metal.  So, if it is this design, lets hope it is executed in aluminum.

Watercooled, DOHC, sounds like a bigbore 'pig' motor from the 90's that was never released.

151HP to 430?wet pounds. Sounds good to me, but I'd still prefer the MGS/01 look but I guess that horse will never leave the barn.

But, sounds like the photo is not related to the story.

430 wet..... will never happen.  More like 530 wet, another bloated pig.

That's the race bike.

Someone mistakenly associated a picture of a covered MAS12 with the upcoming LeMans.

We really don't have any idea what Galluzzi has in store for us with his new LeMans.

Yet.

Amazing how color and a lower fairing can change the looks at this time on a Sunday morning.  ;D

I wonder when this story is going to unfold?

Hmmm....my back already hurts just looking at the geometry, and my hands are cramping.

Given that I would love to see Guzzi come out with a sport bike.  Weight is critical, so is high technology to compete with a very crowded field of extremely competent bikes.

What is under the cover...only the Shadow knows...

............. I want a retro shit box!  Just like the little V7, only bigger.  Doesn't even need DOHC and water-cooled heads.  Just a plain-Jane Griso 8v would work.

Looks like someone's imagination went to overdrive.  The photo is a hoax, not the V13.  So we're just yakking on another speculation thread.

151 hp and 430 lb indeed.    :winer

Yeah.  Pretty much.  Todd@Guzzitech admitted on his thread that he just randomly used the photo in his thread.

Do you remember the VA-10 motor? The Pig, new motor could just be BigBore version.

Yes, the pic is not the new LeMans, but the new LeMans 1300 is for real, and according to Guzztech.com coming this year.

I don't claim to be on the inside of Guzzi workings by any means, but I do know someone who does know, and has told me that the next new Guzzi is indeed a new sport bike.

Those are the numbers of the 1200S Monster. Ducati has learned through evolution to make light weight bikes. They use vacuum casting for their engines cases and finite element analysis to remove any unnecessary weight. Not to mention chain drive. I would guess between 550 and 600 road ready.

Well, I would hope it does not have the stupid a$$ kicked up in the rear look.  But, given the current sport bike styling I suppose it will.

Yes they will.  But I'm thinking they already have a motor that knocks out 96hp, but it's pretty big, and its not designed, at least in this iteration to make big hp for a sporting type bike.   I do think they will be coming out with something much more sporting, and putting out substantially more hp than anything they have done to date.

So Piaggio is shifting their philosophy with Moto Guzzi putting out a sport bike variant.  Will Aprilia make a touring bike?

Like the Aprilia Futura? A very nice sport-touring mount by most accounts.

I think a 100th anniversary LeMans or Daytona would be a good move for Moto Guzzi.

I have given some thought to collecting 100th anniversary bikes. That would be a fun theme for a collection - and it could include: ... a Harley, Husqvarna, BMW, and a Moto Guzzi..... maybe even a Triumph.

I tend to think Guzzi will do another sport bike, but given recent history, I'm wondering whether they do something with modern styling and technology or just go for another dual shocked retro model.

I've heard rumors from a creditable source, but I'll believe it when I see it. I remember the Ippo, and it certainly "looks" like Guzzi is now the cruiser division of Piaggio.
