I've read about a few complaints with the side stand tang being hard to reach. Here's my solution I came up with a few years ago. It's just an extra shifter rubber with a bolt through it attached to the tang.

Ken,
I like your solution better than my small piece of angle aluminum and bolt. Likely I will fix my tang also...as it is really tough to get the stand down when the bike and boot are wet. Thanks!

And here's mine - a but more basic, but it too works.

Ugh :-\ I'm gonna have to make one of these. My kickstand got stuck twice yesterday on my new to me '13 V7 Stone. Once when I got to work and then again when I arrived home. I'll also lube it, but it was quite frustrating both times so hopefully it'll make it easier to kick it down. Otherwise, I'm loving it ;D

Not a problem I've had, but an elegant solution for someone who has... ;-T

Great idea! I will make one up and mount it on my bike tomorrow.
