I don´t like the original windscreen, it´s noisy etc. I´ve had a Harley and a couple of japanese cruisers, all with a batwing and so I started to wonder if a similar one is possible to find to my Vintage -06. I just could not find any. Does anybody know a company, who sells it ? The other alternative is to find a smaller, maybe a "sportier" windshield, but the question is the same, wherefrom ? Because I live in Finland, the EU-area is the simpliest marketing area ( here´s not any batwings ? ). Thank you guys beforehand.

A friend was putting one on his honda and I test-fitted it to my EV. Looked nice, not sure about the ride and stuff...
Check ebay.de and ebay.co.uk ...maybe some others... they might show up from time to time... or have one made.

There's a good reason you can't find one, they're bat-ugly. Call Harpers for their H & H Fairing.

Fairings that work well generally are not visually appealing.

True.

Memphis Shades makes a "batwing". The Motocycle Shop in Watertown, SD has adapted it to a black Calvin a couple of years ago.
-
batwing is even worst, on a windy day you will "sail"
and please don't turn a calvin into a harley bagger wanna be...
-
H&H fairings are the best handle bar fairings ever. But if you don't like the price, National Cycle plexifaring III is almost as good.

One of our old Guzzi riders (not chronologically , just experience wise ) , Ken Bunch , ran a real HD batwing on his bike . Might be some pics buried up in the Oklahoma camp out archives . Of course Ken has also gone to the "dark' side , so maybe a batwing is a really bad idea ;D He told me it confused the HD riders , they would wave and then get a puzzled look . "Hey Billy Bob , WTH was that ?"

Yeah, I've always enjoyed that response - the "It's not Japanese, and it's got two cylinders, but ???"

I saw these fairings at a motorcycle show a few years ago -- the craftsmanship was impeccable:

No idea if they can fit a Guzzi.
There seem to be a lot of options. Google: "batwing fairings for motorcycles," and see for yourself.

I have been using Memphis shades bat wings for about 7 years. I use the quick dismount type and am very satisfied with them and the company.

Oh the HORROR! Go for it if you're looking for waves.

Yes, that´s it. Do you know the manufacturer or seller and the main thing, the brackets? For all of you, who are just keeping me insane: if you don´t try, you´ll never know. BTW. I´ve owned five Ducatis and one Griso before this Calvin and been driving italian cars, so I know, that the batwing is not a stylish one, but in the other hand, I use to travel long distance trips all over the Europe and at my age the comfort to do that comes before the style.

Who could seriously call a batwing ugly when compared to a H&H, That H&H is the ugliest thing I've seen in years. I actually think the batwing looks good on a Calvin.

I agree. Seems right to me. I guess it's mostly a matter of sour, er, pork.
Although I have happily removed the white stripes from my Calvin, I think it would be interesting to see one of the wing owners apply striping to match the Calvin stripes.

Not to distract from this thread but.....
Good gosh John, aren't you concerned about all the stuff you got hanging on the wall, above and around that pretty, impeccably dust free, you could eat off the dam thing, bike falling on it and messing up the finish?
Dam some peoples kids got no respect for their own toys. Just kidding. But how do you keep it that clean, or do you have so many bikes this one just sits there and is admired.

Dave,
That's not my garage. That's Jim & Sandy out in Yankton, SD. The only thing that hangs in mine are pictures as seen below. My wife had a garden "shed" built so she had walls to hang things on.

The H&H works much better than a FLH style batwing because it has lowers and vents. It looks sorta "batty". Great fairing!
-
Different tastes maybe... H&H looks just fugly.. I have no doubt it works well, but just not for me.
I would prefer a batwing, but it sits too high on a cali...
I LOVE the look of a vetter tho...

I had an old Bates fairing on a `71 Ambo. It looked sweet but when it was raining as you rode, the fairing landed rain right in your crotch !! ~; So which is more important to you, how it looks or how it works? ;)

If I knew how to post pictures on forum I could show you my Bassa with HD batwing. 40k plus miles set up with it very functional.
-
CalVin above is nice and a BW fits it fine, but when you read the text, you´ll find three words: custom made brackets. Im´m not an engineer, pitty.

While I don't get too frighteny at cobbing things up - fabbing fairing mountings just gives me the heebie-jeebies. I can't help but imagine eating the fairing at 75 MPH. Funny, 'cause I'll whittle a swing arm or conjure up my own hair pin radius rods. Fairings? Not so much.
-
I have and will probably again. Not that scary if you can jig things up and weld.
-
Sorry for dredging up an old thread. I've got a black Memphis Batwing with brackets out in the shed. If anyone is interested in buying it I will dig it out and post some pics.

Wixom on my CalVin I used to have. Not as ugly as an H&H and rode better than the stock shield.
-
I have had Memphis batwings on two of my sidecar rigs and have been favorably impressed.
I like the quick disconnect feature that allows removal in less than a minute and re-attachment in just a little longer.

EV Touring fairing ?

The Plexi fairing 111 is a clear of life smoke fairing that offers exellent wind protection and takes little away from the looks of the bike. It mounts to the handle bars and the lowers. They are very stable and secure. I had one on an 2004 EV and I'm pretty sure it would fit on the later model vintage
