From the information I've managed to gather so far, the lightest flywheel I can fit to my LM2 is the 10 spring from a V11 Sport.
Is this correct, and if so, is this same flywheel fitted to any other models?

Not correct.
Ergal Racing 10 spring : 0,99 kg.

I've had one in my round head special for 18+ years with zero issues...lightest flywheel in existance for 8-springer's as far as I'm aware...

I'm guessing Ergal are aluminium alloy, but anyway I can't justify buying at those sort of prices. I'm not after racing performance, just better response to the throttle and a quicker wind up. I've read that 10 spring flywheels will fit the older models, obviously the spring back plate will be needed too, (will an original 8 spring 2 plate clutch fit the 10 spring?), I've already fitted a deep spline hub.
I should have worded my original question to say the lightest Moto Guzzi flywheel.
I've seen that HMB in Germany charge Euro 249 to lighten the original flywheel and ring gear, maybe that's the way to go.

I have a lightened flywheel and ring gear from Ed Millich. It is a stock unit that has been CNC machined. I put heavier springs from Barnett in as well. If I had it to do over I would go with the ten springer. One came up on Ebay shortly after I purchased my wallet-lightening unit. Light weight, less pressure at the clutch lever and stock Guzzi parts.

Why not a RAM clutch? They are pretty light- it's what I have in my Eldo.

Check with Reboot Guzzi Spares too...they used to do lightened flywheels. I had one done up by them for my old T3 when I was living in the UK.

I've been in touch with Reboot and they have a Norge 10 spring flywheel and ring gear.
However, looking at Stein Dinse' online parts catalogue, it shows both the 850 and 1200 Norge as having 8 spring flywheels.
Can anyone tell me if Norge's did have 10 springs fitted and whether this will be the same as fitted to the V11 Sport, or heavier.
They have also said I will need the later type clutch centre; is this the component the clutch push rod contacts?
Will the ring gear from an 8 spring also fit a 10 spring?
Are the 8 and 10 spring clutch push rods the same length?

Any 2V 10 spring clutch will work but only as a complete unit (flywheel, pressure plate and ring gear) 8 spring ring gear won't work on a 10 spring flywheel. I have a 10 spring clutch from a Sport 1200 2V and it's very similar in weight to a 10 spring V11 clutch which is very similar in weight to a heavily lightened 8 spring clutch………
The push rod cup thingy are interchangeable and you use the Lemans push rod. 10 spring clutches with 6 speed gearboxes use a different pushrod.

I found a couple of 10 spring flywheels for sale but neither had pressure plates or ring gears.
An Ergal would have been nice but cost wise I decided to lighten the original flywheel.
I sent my flywheel / ring gear to HMB-Guzzi in Germany and they sent me a lightened / balanced assembly in exchange.
The originals weighed in at 5.6Kg, the lightened ones 3.0Kg.

Cost is 270 Euro with your flywheel / ring gear as exchange items. Bargain with the exchange rate as it is now.
