I have discovered there are significant differences between Carls drawing and my 98 EV, I'm sure Carl's drawing is correct for many 98s and later bikes
Mine has a P8 ECU, Carl shows a 15M
Here is a sketch to show the differences around the ignition switch and fuses

Heres a sketch of the fuses and relays of the earlier 98s like mine

I did a "Startus Interuptus" fix on mine the other day powering the Start relay more directly from the battery by-passing the ignition switch, heres a sketch that shows the changes.

I had to remove the Headlight relay feed from the Start relay, it no longer turns off while cranking. I doubt this is an issue but If so it would be quite easy to fix.
I also added a main fuse to protect the switch and previously unfused wiring.
I am pleased to report the bike cranking has improved, even with less than 12 Volts in the battery it was able to crank and start.
If someone wishes to do the same fix they should first of all determine which wiring they have. It's probably safe to assume it's like mine if it has a P8 ECU.

For the 98 EV, I found Carl's 97 Cal 1100 was closest. Not sure how he had the 15M in the 98. As far as I know that never existed, at least not in the US.

Yes it looks closer but not quite, Fuse 1 is powered differently. I have a California Special manual that is closer around the fuse and ignition switch but it has the 15M also.

Its a chimera! My 98 EV matches PART of the 1997 1100i diagram and PART of the 1998EV diagram. Can't do any electrical work without studying both diagrams.

On mine I found the relay's and fuses for the fuel pump and ECU were opposite of factory schematics. Think it was pyro Dan who had two with serial numbers very close together and they were different. Must of had some good wine at lunch then back to work. Here's a diagram from his site. http://dpguzzi.com/cal1100i.pdf

my 99 uses a P8, not a 15M

Joe, it's very close but fuse 1 is wrong for mine it's for the petcock which the drawing doesn't show, i don't know what the 4 way flasher is about either.
BTW this diagram shows the Start Relay fed from the ignition switch also, not good IMHO

You might find my sketch of the relays & fuses useful then it would be interesting to know if fuses 1 to 4 are only powered when the key is ON

Does anyone have a schematic for a late model (2008) California Vintage?

Has anyone been in touch with Dan? I wrote him an e-mail before XMas requesting relays for my 98 EV. I haven't heard back. Maybe he went on vacation? Out of the cold.

I bought a front brake switch from him in November. All was good then.

For what its worth - the 1998 EVs had an earlier and later variety sold in that year model. The early ones had a red MG oval on the side covers.

I don't but have a California Special diagram, it shows the 15M ECU. I don't see that in Carl's list.
The manuals don't seem to identify what year they apply to that I can find.
The picture looks like late 90s
If anyone can use this diagram send me a PM with an e-mail I can send it to.
