I bought a manual for my Piaggio MP3-500. It's fine except for the quality of the wiring diagrams. They were printed on half a page and details are so tiny as to be useless. I would just take it to Office Max & print them larger, but under magnification the numbers identifying the components are a blob of dots. I contacted the folks from whom I bought the manual and they sent me a full diagram on PDF. Normally I'd print the thing a section at a time on 6 8"x11" sheets, then trim & tape them together to make a diagram around 31-2" X 22-3". Something I can actually see to trace the various circuits. Unfortunately, my Epson printer doesn't have that capability.
Any of y'all have something better? It would be great if I could forward the PDF & one of y'all could print it blown up in 6 sections. I'd happily pay for the service/postage etc.
Thanks,
ronkom

Would it not be easier and quicker to go to, e.g., Staples?
Box office-supply stores usually have sufficiently robust printing equipment to handle that sort of job, and relatively inexpensive, too.

I do these things on screen, there I can magnify as much as needed. Never print it. The pdf you bought, is from Piaggio and can be downloaded when you search a bit.

Tiled printing to make a big print from multiple small ones is normally handled in software. The printer doesn't have to be anything special. I'm not a Windows guy, so I can't tell you what software, but maybe someone else here can.

I just checked using my wiring diagram. Printer type doesn't matter. Open it up in Aodbe Reader, select the 'poster' button and "Actual Size". Then print. Beware, it might take more than 10 sheets to get it all printed.

Adobe reader.
Print to poster.
Be aware that the source material needs to be good quality.

If you go to Service Guzzi site (dealers site) you can download one in high definition. Know a co-operating dealer close by?
Sorry it's the Mothership site Piaggio

I can print single sheets as large as 13" x 19" if you'd like a one page version at that size. I suppose I could tile print from that size as well and get you the bigger result with less tape and splicing. Let me know if that would help.

Send it to me I can usually print out 1 x 17 colour and I'll post it back

So, how do you open a .gif or .jpg in Adobe reader?

Ron said it was a PDF. ???

You don't. The OP's problem was with a pdf file.
For other images I use Corel, but, that's a bit expensive for one time use.
My HP and Epson printers have a 'poster' mode in their drivers. If yours does not see if there is a software upgrade for your specific printer. Maybe they have added that function at some point.

I searched your area, and this place popped up, which looks like they are equipped for that kind of service. I'd call them up and see how much they'd charge for a 24x36 color print.

Guys,
Thanks for all the good ideas. Big problem is with my eyes, Dr. wants to cut into 'em & do a transplant......whi le I'm awake & looking at him!!! (gives me cold chills just thinking about it)
So, I have a small ASUS laptop, but have to plug it up to a larger monitor to use it at all. My shop is small & crowded, setting up & using a laptop & extra monitor is not really practical. I print out the wiring diagrams large & tape them to the oil tank next to my hydraulic lift table. That way I can just turn from the bike I'm working on & check the offending circuit.
Now I'm trying to figure how to go from:
http://manuals.wotmeworry.org.uk/Gilera%20Fuoco%20-%20MP3%20500/MP3%20500-Fuoco%20Wiring%20Diagram%20(USA%20ONLY).pdf
to something I can "poster" and print in sections.
For an old dog a new trick can be a bitch!

Ok, I just printed you a 44" x 25" copy on individual sheets. Some assembly required. Remind me of your address in a PM and I'll mail it off.

I clicked on the link and waited for it to open.
Right clicked and did a 'save as' to save it to my PC.
Right clicked the saved file, and opened with Adobe Reader.
Click the printer icon, and select POSTER.
Change the 'scale' to as large as you want. the preview will show how many pages it will cover.
Print.
(you can actually print from the initial open too)
You are lucky, it is vector graphics. It will look good enlarged.

That drawing is terrible, the lines and printing are so small it would take a week to figure out anything, even when I got it to 2 11x17 sheets it was
hard next to imposable to read.
I don't think you could ever troubleshoot using that ???

It looks excellent at 44 x 34. It could go even bigger and not loose clarity because it's based on a vector image.

Not to threadjack but we were just thinking of getting a printer for the house here but also curious as to what's out there wireless for our ipads. The bigger question is which ones will print stiff cardstock. My wife is doing a small jewelry hobby and needs a printer that will print from wireless but will also print fairly heavy card stock as well. Anyone know?

Hmm, I don't see the "Save As" option, only print

Ron said it was a PDF. ???
Sorry, I should have said is there any way to open a .jpg or .gif in Adobe. That's the format of all the wiring diagrams I have..
-
chuck........my computer doesn't have very much in the way of software on it.... whenever I want to change something from one format to another I scan it and the printer asks me how I want to save it,, that's how I do it.

Failing vision and growing tired of looking up torque values caused me to take rash action. I simply had my local copy center (Kinkos, Staples, OfficeMax etc) print the PDF on glossy paper. For a few bucks, this saves a lot of time.
One can either copy the PDF image or page onto a Thumb Drive (USB memory stick) or my preference, simply email the image to the copy center. They'll have it done by the time you drive there.
These are in color, 24 x 16 inches, but they can print 'em to fit on the side of the Goodyear blimp.
