Finally on video what occurs as a daily threat on my commute!

One can just 'FEEL' that copper telling himself "BREATHE ... THINK ... (I want to shoot that ******) NO! BREATHE ... THINK... heheheh.
That driver should lose their licence or they will end up actually hurting someone else ... VERY weak NSW laws ... nothing for protection of road users against idiots-ALL for raising revenue thru fines.
Freakingly (stupid?uncaring?arrogant?spiteful? .. you pick I am no wiser) drivers pull up from high speed at the last moment right behind bike and when you look at the driver they are
either looking down at something, looking at the car next to them or if sunnies on, staring back at you ... usually 'thick' of males species for the last one.

High viz is bullcrap, it's all about contrast. When riding around in bright environments highviz will work against you. When it's dark your lights will do more than the highviz. Only once in my 10 years / 300.000km's did I have a moment where I thought a fellow biker should work on his contrast. Only once, and that's year round riding.

Three bikecops were escorting an ambulance with the van driver (2nd link) who was severely injured.
1: Multiple injuries at a Traffic accident on the A7 (highway)
2: A van drove into a car and came to a stop against a tree (please note highway speeds in NL at the time were 120km/h)
3: The van driver was rushed to the hospital
4: The ambulance was escorted by three police officers.
5: One of the officers conducted traffic to the left lane of the highway (this was at the otherside of the highway where the accident happened, to make sure the ambulance could smoothly enter the highway)
6: And he was hit a car driver that didn't pay attention

Since hearing of riders being rear ended while parked, at lights for instance, my practice has been to be well to the left or right of the lane. I hope it works. Being in a car would have offered a bit more protection but not against whiplash. It's a risky life.

I know how easily it can happen. Someone on a Griso ::) ran into the back of his mates Harley road king in Melbourne a couple of weeks back. Harley rider looked right..... Griso rider looked right, and thought 'car coming.... But heaps of room' got on the gas as he looked back in front to see a very close up view of the Harley's rear end.... Bang ! ::( Only a scuff mark on the paint luckily.
Do you think that's what happened here ?

Intentionally Stopping a motorcycle in the middle of a busy multii lane highway is a form of suicide.
The questionable judgement of the motorcycle policeman sadly caused his own fatality. After the semi truck made a quick lane change, the following automobiles had only a second or two sight distance. Far too short to react to the stationary impediment and stop.
A quick review of Netherlands motor vehicle laws reveals the motorcycle in question was required to post warning triangles a minimum of 30 meters from his vehicle.
A safer and more prudent maneuver would have been to stop off the road in a safe place, dismounted and directed traffic on foot. This was entirely avoidable.
